Role Description: This is a full-time or part-time, on-site or remote Auditor role based in Auckland. The Auditor will perform financial and compliance audits, including planning engagements and assessing risk, for a variety of entities such as charities and not-for-profit organizations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, evaluating internal controls, and documenting findings. The role involves liaising with clients, gathering supporting documentation, explaining audit outcomes, and providing recommendations to improve financial processes and compliance. The Auditor will work closely with colleagues to meet deadlines, follow professional standards, and contribute to continuous improvement within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting, and compliance requirements for charities, not-for-profit entities, and small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare audit documentation, reports, and to discuss findings clearly with clients and team members.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and address complex audit issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, build professional relationships with clients, and maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress toward or completion of CPA Australia is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in external audit or assurance, ideally within sectors such as charities, early learning services, or other not-for-profit organizations, is beneficial.
