Position Summary:
The Automation and Process Controls Instructor delivers the StrataTech pre-developed program curriculum to current technicians looking to upskill their knowledge. This is an advanced technical training role covering industrial automation, controls systems, PLC programming, fluid power, and power transmission. Students are employed maintenance technicians sent by skilled trades partners to build skills directly applicable to their daily operations. The Automation and Process Controls Instructor is technically credible, instructionally disciplined, and professional enough to represent StrataTech in a client-facing environment.
Responsibilities:
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
- Deliver assigned program curriculum in classroom and lab settings with technical accuracy and instructional clarity
- Follow the curriculum as designed. Content is not substituted or modified without approval from the Senior Director or B2B Curriculum Manager
- Adapt delivery style to meet the needs of adult learners across varying levels of prior experience without compromising technical content or pacing

- Maintain the lab to a standard that reflects professional pride, not minimum compliance
Student Engagement and Outcomes
- Hold students to the standard the program requires. An employed technician leaving this program must be prepared to pass a Multi-skilled Assessment Test and/or Ramsey Exam.
- Create a learning environment that is structured, respectful, and demanding. Adult learners with field experience respond to instructors who know their material and expect effort
- Manage classroom and lab conduct consistently. Address disruption or disengagement directly and professionally
- Provide students with clear, actionable feedback throughout the program, not only at formal evaluation points
Professional Conduct and Client Representation
- Conduct yourself as a representative of StrataTech in every interaction
- Communicate with client personnel professionally and within the scope of your role. Questions or concerns that exceed that scope are escalated to the Senior Director within the same business day
- Complete all reporting, documentation, and administrative requirements on time
- Communicate scheduling needs, equipment issues, or student concerns to the Senior Director proactively

- Instruct on power transmission including shaft alignment, bearing inspection and replacement, gear drive PM, and belt and chain drive maintenance
- Deliver PLC-integrated conveyor system and motion control troubleshooting in real-world application scenarios
