Automation QA Engineer

Ciklum is looking for an Automation QA Engineer to join our team full-time in the Czech Republic.

About the role:

As an Automation QA Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

We are looking for a talented QA Engineer to join our client’s Engineering team and help build a cloud cybersecurity platform for the automotive industry. This is a chance to own quality on a product at the frontier of connected-vehicle security — where your testing directly protects the systems automotive companies depend on. The role centers on web-based UI testing, automated framework execution, and using AI tools to make QA faster, smarter, and more effective. This role is full-time, based in the Czech Republic.

Responsibilities:

• Design, write, and execute both manual and automated functional tests that keep our platform reliable at scale
• Put AI-augmented testing tools to work, shaping how the team tests and continuously raising the bar on efficiency and coverage
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, so quality is built into every release, not bolted on afterward
• Log, track, and verify software defects, working closely with engineering to close the loop fast
• Run database queries to confirm backend integrations and data persistence are rock-solid
• Bring your perspective to technical refinement sessions — your input on testability and edge cases shapes how features get built

Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience automating UI tests for multi-tier client-server web applications
• Hands-on experience writing test automation scripts (Playwright with TypeScript preferred)
• Practical experience applying AI-augmented testing tools (Claude preferred) to real QA workflows
• Working knowledge of CI/CD integration tools (GitHub Actions and Jenkins preferred)
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal

Desirable:

• Practical knowledge of relational databases and SQL query execution (SELECTs)
• A working understanding of application security concepts and common web vulnerabilities
• Domain experience in cybersecurity or cloud platform testing — a strong plus given what you’ll be protecting
