About the Role

You'll be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining automated tests across UI and API platforms, helping deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

We're recruiting across two levels:

• Senior Automation Tester: Lead automation framework development, drive automation quality and provide technical guidance across complex testing activities.

• Automation Tester: Develop, execute, debug and maintain automated tests, contributing to the overall automation strategy.

Location: Open to candidates based anywhere in Australia, with a preference for Sydney-based applicants. Hybrid working arrangements apply, requiring two days onsite per week, depending on location.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript.

• Perform UI and API test automation, including functional, integration and regression testing.

• Develop, enhance and maintain reusable automation frameworks and test components.

• Integrate automated tests into Git and CI/CD pipelines.

• Investigate and troubleshoot automation failures, application defects and testing issues.

• Utilise AI-assisted coding tools to support automation development and improve efficiency.

• Review, validate and debug AI-generated automation scripts to ensure quality and reliability.

• Collaborate with developers, testers and technical teams to improve testing practices and delivery outcomes.

• For senior-level opportunities, provide technical guidance, code reviews and support automation framework development.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on automation experience using Playwright and TypeScript.

• Experience developing, executing and maintaining UI and API automated tests.

• Good understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.

• Experience with Gherkin/BDD testing practices.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools and validating AI-generated test scripts.

• Ability to write clean, reusable and maintainable automation code.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within technical delivery teams.

For Senior Automation Testers, we're also looking for:

• Advanced Playwright/TypeScript and API automation expertise.

• Proven experience designing and developing automation frameworks.

• Strong code review, debugging and automation quality assurance skills.

• Experience integrating automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines.

• Ability to provide technical direction and guidance across automation activities.
