About the role:

Vantage is seeking an, AVP, Ceded Reinsurance to manage execution of the company's ceded reinsurance programs. Reporting to the VP, Ceded Reinsurance, you will coordinate ceded reinsurance activities with internal and external stakeholders, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintain accurate and up to date records, and provide timely and accurate reports.

You will maintain a deep understanding of the company's ceded reinsurance arrangements, including policy terms, contract provisions, and claims processes, and build strong working relationships with business units, finance, legal, and reinsurance brokers to keep ceded reinsurance transactions running smoothly.

The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $190,000. Actual base salary for the selected candidate will be commensurate with experience and expectations. Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Provide support to Ceded team’s management of the execution of the company's ceded reinsurance programs, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's ceded reinsurance arrangements, including policy terms, contract provisions, and claims processes for pre-placement and post-placement activities.
  • Develop strong relationships with reinsurance brokers, business units, finance, legal, and other stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient execution of ceded reinsurance transactions.
  • Ensure that all ceded reinsurance activities follow regulatory requirements, including maintaining appropriate documentation and reporting as necessary.
  • Partner directly with reinsurance brokers throughout the placement lifecycle, including submission preparation, market strategy, terms negotiation, contract wording review, and binding.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on the company's ceded reinsurance activities and status, including the creation and communication of placement documentation to all relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze the company's ceded reinsurance processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in ceded reinsurance operations, preferably in a property and casualty insurance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts and practices, including treaty and facultative reinsurance, loss reserve calculations, and claims management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Professional designation such as CPCU, ARM, or ARe preferred, but not required.
