The AVP, Strategic Sales – GM Protections Canada is responsible for leading the end-to-end sales strategy, execution, and provide oversight of Third-Party Administrator’s field organization for GM Protection products across Canada. This role drives growth in vehicle service contracts and related protection products by delivering best-in-class dealer engagement, optimizing penetration and profitability, and aligning closely with GM Canada, Dealer Services, and strategic partners.
The position serves as a critical link between GMF leadership, GMF sales, GM Canada, Third Party Administrator (TPA), and the dealer network to ensure consistent execution of protection strategies and achievement of business objectives.

About the role:
- Develop and execute national sales strategies for protection products in partnership with GM Canada, Third Party Administrator (TPA) , and GMF leadership and sales
- Establish sales targets, incentive frameworks, and go-to-market plans to drive contract volume and penetration
- Establish and oversee sales budgets, performance metrics, and strategic sales initiatives
- Provide guidance and oversight of TPA’s national GM Protections field organization and ensure alignment with GMF sales leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with GM Dealer Principals, General Managers, and F&I leaders
- Partner closely with GM Canada, and GMF sales leadership to align strategies and execution
- Design and implement dealer incentive and reinsurance participation strategies
- Identify new business opportunities to expand protections penetration and profitability
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, dealer trends, and market conditions
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes
- Track competitive positioning and market dynamics to inform decision-making
- Identify and mitigate dealer-related risks impacting GM Financial
What makes you an ideal candidate:
Knowledge and Skills
- Deep understanding of dealership operations and F&I processes
- Expertise in protection products (VSC, GAP, XS Wear, etc.)
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures and dealer financial models
- Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Executive presence with excellent stakeholder management
- Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into action
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
Work Experience
- 5–7 years of sales and/or sales operations experience
- 3–5 years of leadership experience managing sales or field organizations
- Demonstrated success driving sales performance, dealer engagement, and business growth
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience Required
Master’s Degree
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel across Canada and periodic U.S. travel required
- High level of engagement with dealers and field teams, including non-standard business hours

The base range for this role is: $109,000 - $201,500
At GM Financial, we strive for transparency in all aspects of our business, including pay equity. This is the GM Financial pay range for this role and job level. The exact salary and compensation will vary based on factors like knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
This role is eligible to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. Full time employees are eligible to participate in health benefits after 30 days of employment.
