AWS Cloud Architect

Rol e: AWS Cloud Architect Employment Type: Full-Time Workplace Type: Remote Location: Washington, DC, USA Is your head in the clouds? Our federal client is seeking a Cloud Architect to design, manage, and maintain their critical cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to support their production, development, and testing environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain and optimize the existing AWS environment, including virtual machines, storage, and key management systems. Implement cloud architecture solutions for new systems and applications as needed. Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and load to ensure cost-effective and reliable operations. Proactively resolve issues affecting system readiness or security. Ensure the cloud environment complies with IT security directives, NIST SP 800-53, and other federal regulations. Oversee key management activities, including encryption and key rotation using AWS KMS. Collaborate with DevOps Engineer to support CI/CD systems, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins. Ensure seamless integration and deployment of cloud-hosted applications. Maintain up-to-date documentation of the cloud infrastructure and provide technical guidance on cloud best practices. KEY REQUIREMENTS 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role managing AWS environments. Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale, cloud-based systems. Advanced knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and KMS. Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform. Strong understanding of IT security principles, including encryption, patching, and incident response. AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional). Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with at least three years of continuous residency in the United States. Ability to pass a federal background check. Why work with us?
