Permanent Full-Time | Macquarie Park | Early January Start

Are you an Azure DevOps administrator or experienced Azure DevOps power user who enjoys improving tools, supporting teams and maintaining a well-governed platform?

We're looking for someone who can help administer and improve Azure DevOps across Metcash IT. You'll work closely with the Ways of Working Transformation Leader to support platform administration, deliver uplift initiatives, improve security and maintain agreed standards across the platform.

This role offers an opportunity to broaden your experience across Azure DevOps and related delivery tools while contributing to improvements that support teams across Metcash IT.

About the Opportunity

As our Azure DevOps & Tools Administrator, you'll help administer, improve and support Azure DevOps across Metcash IT.

Initially, you'll contribute to a range of uplift activities including improving project structure, strengthening security controls, improving platform consistency and establishing clear standards. Following the uplift, you'll continue supporting Azure DevOps and the broader delivery toolset as part of business-as-usual operations.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Macquarie Park, with an early January start.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Administer Azure DevOps organisations, extensions and core configuration settings
  • Maintain inherited processes, work item types, workflows, fields, states and layouts
  • Support project, repository and pipeline restructuring activities to improve security, consistency and usability
  • Manage permissions and access in line with Entra ID and least-privilege principles
  • Support Cyber remediation activities by implementing approved changes and assisting with access reviews
  • Configure and maintain agent pools, service connections and environments
  • Assess routine change requests and apply agreed standards and governance processes
  • Support reporting, data quality and platform integrations
  • Assist with maintaining and improving automation using Logic Apps
  • Administer tools including Lucid and Smartsheet
  • Support the retirement of Confluence and Jira and transition users to endorsed tools
  • Contribute to documentation, reference material and guidance for delivery teams
  • Provide support and advice to users of Azure DevOps and related delivery tools

What You'll Bring

  • Approximately 2-3 years of relevant experience working with Azure DevOps
  • Practical experience using Azure DevOps as either an Administrator or Power User
  • Strong GitHub administration experience will also be highly regarded
  • Good working knowledge of Azure DevOps organisations, projects, permissions, inherited processes, work item types and workflows
  • Understanding of repositories, pipelines, agent pools, service connections and environments
  • Experience supporting platform administration, configuration or governance activities
  • Understanding of access controls, security groups, Entra ID and least-privilege principles
  • Experience supporting security remediation or access review activities
  • Ability to work independently on day-to-day administration while escalating complex or high-risk changes when required
  • Strong attention to detail and an interest in maintaining platform quality and consistency
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • A collaborative and continuous improvement mindset
  • Exposure to Logic Apps, Power Automate or similar automation tools will be highly regarded
  • Python development experience will be highly regarded
  • Microsoft Azure DevOps certification is desirable

Important Note

Understanding of repositories, pipelines, agent pools and service connections is important. However, designing and building CI/CD pipelines is not a requirement of this role.
