About the opportunity
We are growing our property-care business and hiring an outbound sales representative to help us build recurring relationships with US businesses.
Our current core offering is commercial cleaning. You will connect with property managers, facilities managers, office managers, operations managers, and business owners to understand their requirements and develop opportunities for recurring service contracts.
We are looking for a confident, engaging conversationalist who can earn someone’s attention, put them at ease, and ask thoughtful questions. You should bring energy and presence to your calls, listen closely, and remain composed when a prospect challenges you.
We welcome candidates from different industries. Your ability to learn, apply feedback, and follow through matters alongside the sales experience you bring.
Your role
Cold calling will be your primary channel. You will identify relevant businesses within our service areas, reach decision-makers, understand their situation, and arrange qualified sales conversations or site walkthroughs.
You will own prospecting, initial qualification, appointment confirmation, and follow-up. The team will assist you with handling service assessments, pricing, proposals, and closing, with your support in keeping opportunities moving.
What you will do
- Research target businesses and identify who manages service providers and who approves purchasing decisions.
- Navigate receptionists and other gatekeepers professionally.
- Open calls with a clear reason for contacting the prospect and adapt naturally to their response.
- Ask about current arrangements, service concerns, decision-making, and review or renewal timing.
- Adjust your questions and explanation to different buyers, from someone managing one office to someone overseeing multiple properties.
- Explain our services accurately and connect their value to the prospect’s stated needs.
- Handle objections calmly, recognize when an opportunity is worth pursuing, and agree on an appropriate next step.
- Book and confirm qualified appointments or walkthroughs, including the attendees, purpose, and correct time zone.
- Follow up by phone and concise email, and leave clear, relevant voicemails when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, including what was learned, what remains unknown, and the next action.
- Coordinate with the closing team and provide useful handover information.
- Participate in call reviews, practice improvements, and apply feedback in subsequent conversations.
- Follow company outreach procedures and respect prospects’ communication preferences.
What we are looking for
- Experience personally making outbound sales calls to businesses.
- A confident, personable communication style that helps you build rapport with unfamiliar people.
- Clear spoken English, attentive listening, and the ability to respond to unexpected questions.
- Evidence of generating sales conversations, appointments, or opportunities through your own outreach.
- Commercial curiosity and the ability to connect a customer’s operational concerns to a relevant service.
- Composure when facing objections, interruptions, or rejection.
- Confidence asking direct questions and proposing a clear next step.
- Organized follow-up, accurate recordkeeping, and reliable execution of commitments.
- Ability to learn an unfamiliar service, recognize gaps in your knowledge, and apply coaching.
- Availability for the stated schedule and comfort with daily outbound calling.
Required experience
- Prior experience personally making outbound sales calls to US businesses is mandatory.
- Candidates must be able to describe the services or products they sold, the US decision-makers they contacted, and the opportunities or appointments they generated.
Experience selling recurring services, using CRM software, or working in property care is preferred but not required.
How we hire
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to send a 3–4-minute recording:
- Briefly describe your US B2B calling experience: whom you called, your typical monthly meeting bookings, and how those results were tracked.
- Demonstrate a cold-call opener using the brief we provide.
- Answer these two questions:
- A property manager likes their current cleaning provider, and your price is higher. Without discounting, what would you ask to uncover a real opportunity and when would you leave it alone?
- A promising prospect goes quiet after two follow-ups. What would your next voicemail or email say? Avoid discounts, invented deadlines, and “just checking in.”
One take is fine. Speak naturally, as you would with a prospect.
Selected candidates will join a 45-minute interview with a sales role-play. We’ll give you specific feedback and ask you to try again, assessing both your sales ability and how you apply coaching.
We’ll update you within three working days of each stage.
What success looks like
Success means creating opportunities that can progress toward recurring commercial contracts. We will agree on onboarding and ongoing expectations covering:
- Productive conversations with relevant business contacts.
- Qualified opportunities within our service territory.
- Appointments that take place with useful discovery information.
- Timely follow-up and clear handovers.
- Progress against agreed activity and opportunity targets.
- Consistent application of coaching.
