Job Description – Director of Clinical Informatics:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Clinical Informatics to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large-scale provincial Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation program. The successful candidate will lead clinical informatics activities, standardize clinical workflows across healthcare facilities, and ensure alignment between clinical requirements, technical system development, and patient care objectives.
The role involves collaborating with physicians, clinicians, clinical operations teams, technical EHR/CIS build teams, and senior stakeholders to define, validate, and implement standardized clinical workflows while managing approved variations across facilities of different sizes. Responsibilities include leading clinical governance forums, facilitating physician engagement, translating clinical requirements into technical specifications, overseeing system build priorities, and coordinating workflow validation, testing, release readiness, cutover, and go-live activities.
The Director will also support large-scale EHR/CIS implementations through command centre operations, incident management, stabilization, clinician education, change adoption, and post-go-live optimization. Additional responsibilities include promoting patient safety and clinical quality, strengthening medication and order management processes, monitoring project risks and progress, developing clinical informatics strategies and workplans, mentoring clinical informatics teams, and facilitating knowledge transfer. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in clinical informatics leadership, enterprise healthcare system implementations, clinical workflow design, and stakeholder engagement, along with strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
Work Arrangement: Remote, with travel to New Brunswick at least once per month.
Contract Duration: November 2, 2026, to November 1, 2028, with a potential one-year renewal.
