We are seeking Bahasa Indonesia Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Indonesian is a priority Southeast Asian language, widely spoken in Indonesia and by diaspora communities, often required in asylum and immigration cases. Responsibilities Provide real-time Bahasa Indonesia ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings. Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative settings. Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards. Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, healthcare, or government preferred). Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–30/hour. Remote work with secure USCIS-approved platforms.
