About the Role
Baird Capital is seeking an Associate to join the Global Fund investment team within our private equity business. Baird Capital is the direct private investment group of Robert W. Baird & Co. (“Baird”) and invests in growing B2B technology and services businesses. Baird is a leading, employee-owned middle-market financial services firm with more than 5,200 employees and over 200 locations across the U.S. and Europe. Baird has been named to Fortune Magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For list for 23 consecutive years. Our affiliation with Baird provides access to a global knowledge platform and extensive intellectual and human capital across the sectors in which we invest.
Our private equity team has a 35+ year track record of partnering with founder-led businesses to build market-leading platforms. Supported by a global team across North America, Europe, and Asia and a flexible, stage-agnostic capital base, we tailor our investment approach to the unique needs of each business.
Baird Capital is investing out of its 3rd flagship Global Fund ($450M) targeting majority and minority investments in founder or entrepreneur led businesses across technology services & software, industrial sustainability, and pharmaceutical commercialization.
The Associate will support the full investment lifecycle, including evaluating new opportunities, conducting due diligence, executing transactions, and supporting existing portfolio companies. The role provides exposure to senior investment professionals, portfolio-company leadership teams, and internal and external advisors. Responsibilities and ownership are expected to grow as the Associate demonstrates readiness to take on additional responsibility.
This position follows a hybrid schedule, with Monday through Thursday in the Chicago office and Friday remote. The anticipated start date is Summer 2027.
