Summary The Bankruptcy Analyst is responsible for managing and maximizing recoveries on consumer accounts involved in active or discharged bankruptcies. This role involves conducting in-depth research, analyzing case documentation, and initiating appropriate legal actions in collaboration with internal departments and external counsel. The Bankruptcy Analyst must be able to interpret complex legal documents, adhere to procedural guidelines, and deliver consistent, professional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Research and document bankruptcy case information to determine appropriate action, such as filing proofs of claim or referring matters to outside counsel for objection to adverse treatment. Accurately process and document incoming correspondence as part of quality control measures. Update and maintain account details in the company’s servicing system based on bankruptcy activity. Monitor assigned queues and follow up on cases in a timely and organized manner. Initiate and respond to communications with debtor attorneys, trustees, or other third parties via phone and written correspondence. Conduct professional, resolution-focused calls with debtors, attorneys, and court personnel. Review and interpret bankruptcy court documents, including schedules, repayment plans, and proof of claim forms. Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while maintaining service standards. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers and ensure consistent follow-up and communication. Answer and make calls through dialer systems while adhering to call handling standards. Follow internal procedural guidelines and take case-appropriate actions based on bankruptcy analysis. Clearly communicate case findings, irregularities, or concerns to management. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access) required. 2–4 years of experience in mortgage servicing or bankruptcy processing preferred. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional and articulate communication skills. (written and verbal) Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus. If bilingual, must be able to read, write, and speak Spanish at a professional level. Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check per client requirements. Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States. (Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.)
