Job Description - Bariatric Psychologist (230002ZQ) Job Description Bariatric Psychologist - ( 230002ZQ ) Description Under general supervision of a Manager or designee and following the established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, the Bariatric Psychologist’s primary role is performing bariatric surgery evaluations and assesses candidacy for such procedures through the diagnoses, evaluation and treatment of mental and emotional disorders using ASMBS and APA guidelines . Administers evidence-based treatment modalities to prepare such individuals for surgery and post-operatively to ensure well adjustment. Formulate treatment plans based on evaluations and administration and interpretation of testing measures. Also serves as consultant within interdisciplinary team with research participation and trainee supervision opportunities available. Role is mostly focused on individual outpatient treatment with limited group and inpatient duties. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. This is a hybrid remote position. Qualifications Doctorate degree in Psychology from an APA approved progr am in accredited degree granting college or university. Licensure by the State of Florida as a Psychologist. Experience in the treatment of eating disorders and/or health focus preferred.
