Overview
The BD Manager for Crocs China is responsible for developing and executing retail business development strategies in close partnership with the Retail team. This role leads channel planning, site selection, landlord and government relationship management, store-opening execution, and post-opening performance optimization to support profitable growth and strengthen the Crocs brand across Mainland China.
What You'll Do
- Drive retail channel planning and portfolio optimization by mapping market opportunities, identifying priority cities and locations, and aligning the store pipeline with brand positioning, consumer traffic patterns, and the competitive landscape.
- Manage end-to-end business development execution, including data-driven site feasibility assessments, commercial negotiations, lease structuring, and cross-functional coordination with Legal, Finance, Construction, and Retail Operations to deliver on-time, high-quality store openings.
- Communicate and build strong strategic relationships with landlords, developers, private owners, state-owned enterprises, global property groups, and relevant local government stakeholders to support regulatory alignment and operational stability.
- Maintain a balanced retail portfolio across new stores, relocations, expansions, downsizing, refits, and other location optimization opportunities, while ensuring alignment with financial goals and brand standards.
- Track new-store ramp-up and business performance against approved business cases, including yield, revenue, sales, traffic, and conversion, and conduct post-opening reviews to capture learnings and refine future site-selection criteria.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, real estate, retail management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with a leading consumer goods or retail company, ideally with a strong focus on retail business development; at least 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of retail channel planning, store location selection, market mapping, site feasibility, lease negotiation, and space planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop data-driven business cases and present recommendations clearly.
- Fluent English and strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, manage complex projects and critical milestones, and implement company strategies with internal and external partners.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with high energy, resilience, strong ownership, integrity, and willingness to travel as required.
