About The Company
RSL Care RDNS Limited, operating as Bolton Clarke, is one of Australia’s largest independent, not-for-profit providers of home care, retirement living and residential aged care. The organisation supports older people and communities across Australia and internationally. Its residential aged care group operates 87 homes across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, including the Allity, McKenzie and Acacia Living Group homes. Bolton Clarke’s work is guided by a commitment to supporting people to live with dignity, choice and independence.
About The Role
Bolton Clarke is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join its Group Information & Analytics team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. In this hands-on role, you will develop high-quality Power BI reporting solutions that help inform decisions across care, corporate and operational services. You will work closely with business analysts, data engineers and operational stakeholders to understand reporting needs and turn them into robust data models, reliable reporting logic and clear, useful visualisations.
The role may be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne and offers a hybrid working arrangement, generally involving one to two days per week in the office. You will contribute across the reporting solution lifecycle, from requirements interpretation and data modelling through to development, testing, documentation, handover and ongoing user support.
Qualifications
You will bring strong practical experience developing, testing, documenting and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards. You will have demonstrated capability in dimensional data modelling, star schema design and relational database principles, alongside advanced DAX and M/Power Query skills and practical experience using T-SQL.
A bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Current Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification is required. Additional relevant certification in Power BI data modelling, DAX or M/Power Query will be highly regarded. Experience in health or aged care is beneficial, but not essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to quality, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational colleagues are important for success.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, document and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements and align with organisational standards. Work with business analysts and stakeholders to clarify reporting needs and translate them into accurate, intuitive and maintainable technical solutions. Design conceptual, logical and physical data models using dimensional modelling and star schema principles. Build and maintain data transformations and reporting logic using DAX, M/Power Query and T-SQL.
Partner with data engineers to define requirements for upstream data warehouses, databases and integrations. Create and execute test plans, validate report results, investigate issues and ensure reporting outputs are dependable. Prepare clear technical documentation and operational handovers. Support and coach self-service Power BI users and developers, share knowledge across the team, and contribute to continuous improvement in reporting practices and solutions.
Benefits
Join a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation where your work helps support services for older people. Bolton Clarke offers a caring and collaborative team environment, opportunities for career development and professional growth, and a hybrid working arrangement. Eligible employees may access generous salary packaging and not-for-profit tax benefits, including the opportunity to claim up to $18,550 tax free, subject to applicable rules. Other benefits include private health insurance and gym discounts, as well as an Employee Assistance Program available to employees and their families.
Equal Opportunity
RSL Care RDNS Limited values diversity and expects employees to respect and appreciate differences in age, disability, race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, and family or marital status. The organisation is committed to an inclusive workplace where people are treated fairly and with respect. Appointment to this position and ongoing employment are subject to a commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion.
