BI Expert - Tableau ROLE OVERVIEW We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced BI Expert to join our team. This role combines deep technical expertise in BI and Analytics with a strong client-facing and presales dimension. The successful candidate will act as a technical lead on client engagements, mentor team members, and play an active role in winning new business through demos, POCs, and technical proposals, primarily serving clients in the banking and financial services sector. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Delivery & Technical Leadership • Lead end-to-end BI solution delivery across analytics, reporting, data modeling, and dashboard development • Design and develop semantic/data models using SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) as the preferred semantic layer, following best practices (star schema, snowflake, dimensional modeling) • Build rich, interactive dashboards and reports, with Tableau as the primary and most critical tool, supported by Power BI and Qlik Sense • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimize database performance • Apply Python or R for data transformation, statistical analysis, and automation • Leverage Azure or AWS cloud services to architect scalable BI solutions • Design interactive dashboards using Figma or similar design tools, incorporating the required data storytelling principles to produce visually polished, user-centric, and insight-driven BI deliverables. • Act as technical lead on assigned projects, overseeing architecture decisions and ensuring quality of delivery Presales & Business Development • Actively participate in pre-sales activities including client meetings, requirement gathering sessions, and scoping workshops • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and product demos tailored to client needs • Design and execute Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate proposed solutions • Contribute to the development of technical proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and solution documentation • Build credibility and trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders Mentoring & Supervisory Duties • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level BI analysts and developers within the team • Review technical deliverables to ensure alignment with standards, client expectations, and best practices • Support knowledge transfer and capability building within the analytics practice TECHNICAL SKILLS & TOOLS Primary Tool (highest proficiency required): • Tableau - primary BI tool; expert-level proficiency Core Tools: • Power BI • Qlik Sense • SQL & relational databases - query optimization, schema design, ETL logic • SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) tabular & multidimensional models, MDX/DAX, semantic layer design (preferred semantic layer tool) • Python or R - data processing, analytical scripting, automation • Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI Embedded) or AWS (Redshift, Glue) at least one required • Figma - dashboard wireframing and UX design EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Experience: • 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, and reporting • Proven experience in a consulting or professional services environment • Strong exposure to the banking and financial services sector is a significant advantage • Experience in client-facing roles including presales, requirement gathering, and demos Soft Skills & Competencies: • Excellent communication and presentation skills , comfortable engaging C-level stakeholders • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and workshops with clients • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment • Team player with a proactive and ownership-driven attitude Education: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field Department AI & GenAI Role BI Expert Locations Egypt Remote status Hybrid Employment type Full-time About BBI Founded in 2009, with presence in Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Algeria, BBI has been operating as a trusted partner at the cutting edge of data and AI solutions.
