Job Description: The Bilingual Screener (English/Spanish) position is responsible for contacting and screening discharged uninsured patients for government program eligibility, closes ineligible accounts and advances potential qualifying patients to the next level. This is a hybrid position. Must live in Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX area and must complete the training in Richardson, TX. Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities Contacts patients to screen for government assistance programs and creates collaborative teamwork with those eligible for application advancement Uses clear, simple language to ensure understanding in English and/or Spanish Complies with all state and federal laws regarding HIPAA and confidentiality requirements Able to remain focused and productive each day with minimum supervision Demonstrates respect for all individuals Adheres to ECI’s Mission, Vision and Core Values Other duties as assigned Requirements Soft Skills Needed for the Ideal Candidate: A compassionate heart and a sincere desire to assist patients during any phase of their application process Strong work ethic demonstrated with excellent outcomes Strong written and verbal communication skills Desire to provide the best possible experience for our patients Willing to work and contribute to a team environment Ability to trouble-shoot problems Listens effectively Required Qualifications: High School diploma / GED (or higher) Bilingual English/Spanish Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel) Prior customer service experience desired Required hours: 1pm to 5pm, M-F (some flexibility allowed) Telecommuting Requirements: Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy, Physical and Work Requirements: Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, long periods working at a computer Employment Practices: ECI is an equal opportunity employer.
