Obesity Matters – Parlons Obésité is a Canadian bilingual nonprofit amplifying the voices of people living with obesity and promoting compassionate, evidence-based care. Founded by people with lived experience, we work to challenge weight stigma and advance recognition of obesity as a complex chronic disease. In 2025, we received a United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force Award for our contributions to obesity prevention, care, and management. Our work includes free virtual Wellness Workshops, public awareness campaigns, policy advocacy, and partnerships with healthcare professionals and researchers across Canada.

Role Description

The Bilingual Social Media Content Creator is a full-time, remote role. You'll develop, write, and publish engaging English and French (Québec) content aligned with our mission and campaigns, planning content calendars, creating posts, stories, and short-form videos, moderating comments, and engaging with our online community. You'll collaborate with our communications and program teams to support wellness workshops, advocacy initiatives, and awareness campaigns, and track performance metrics to refine strategy. All content should be respectful, inclusive, and free of stigma.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Québec French) with strong, empathetic writing skills in both
• Experience creating social content — copywriting, basic graphic design, short-form video — for Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn
• Content planning and editorial calendar experience
• Familiarity with social media analytics tools
• Interest or background in health communication, advocacy, or nonprofit work (obesity, mental health, or chronic disease a plus)
• Comfortable with sensitive topics, using person-first, non-stigmatizing language
• Post-secondary education in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Community management or online moderation experience an asset
