Your Opportunity
Help build the facilities that power the future.
Stantec is seeking a BIM Technician to join our US West team and support the delivery of complex industrial, advanced manufacturing, architecture, and multidisciplinary engineering projects. This role will contribute to the planning, design, and construction of facilities that drive innovation across sectors such as Industrial, manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, food & beverage, life sciences, mission critical, logistics and industrial processing.
As a BIM Technician, you will support the development of BIM and CAD project documentation with a primary focus on architectural projects while collaborating closely with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and technology disciplines. You will work alongside architects, engineers, BIM specialists, project managers, and digital delivery professionals to develop coordinated models and construction documents throughout the project lifecycle.
In this role, you will support Revit and AutoCAD production, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Forma collaboration, model coordination, clash detection, digital delivery workflows, and project data management, while helping project teams maintain industry-leading BIM/CAD standards.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of the most technically challenging projects in North America, including manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, industrial campuses, research and development facilities, distribution centers, and large-scale commercial and institutional projects.
This position is ideal for someone who is technically proficient, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about developing their BIM expertise within a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and industrial design environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and update Revit models and AutoCAD drawings in accordance with project requirements, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), client requirements, and company standards.
- Produce accurate 2D construction documentation and coordinated 3D BIM models, with an emphasis on architectural documentation and multidisciplinary project integration.
- Translate design sketches, markups, redlines, and engineering comments into accurate, document-ready project deliverables.
- Support BIM deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, including model organization, views, sheets, drawing production, revisions, document control, and issuance.
- Manage and support project collaboration workflows using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Forma, and other cloud-based project environments.
- Coordinate architectural models and documentation with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, plumbing, process, controls, fire protection, and technology disciplines.
- Assist with model coordination, model health monitoring, content development, Revit families, templates, and project standards.
- Support BIM-based deliverables including visualization, coordination, quantity takeoffs, data extraction, asset information management, and drawing production.
- Perform model reviews and coordination activities to identify and resolve BIM, constructability, and documentation issues.
- Participate in clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination efforts using Revit, Navisworks, ACC, and related coordination platforms.
- Contribute to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures and help maintain compliance with company, client, and project BIM standards.
- Provide day-to-day Revit and AutoCAD support to project teams and assist with troubleshooting production-related issues.
- Support digital delivery initiatives and contribute to the development and improvement of BIM workflows, templates, content libraries, automation tools, and standards.
- Assist with implementation of BIM Execution Plans and project-specific digital delivery requirements.
- Support projects involving advanced manufacturing, industrial facilities, cleanrooms, laboratories, and highly technical building environments where model accuracy and coordination are critical.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate architectural systems with process equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure.
- Balance responsibilities across multiple projects while managing priorities and communicating proactively to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong working knowledge of current versions of Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to develop and maintain coordinated 2D and 3D project documentation.
- Working knowledge of architectural drawing production, construction documentation, and standard construction practices.
- Understanding of BIM principles, model organization, coordination workflows, digital delivery methodologies, and industry documentation standards.
- Proficiency with Revit project setup, views, sheets, annotations, schedules, work-sharing, linked models, and content/family management.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering markups and translate design intent into accurate project documentation.
- Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) / Forma, including model collaboration, publishing, issue tracking, and coordination workflows, is preferred.
- Experience with model coordination and clash detection using Revit, Navisworks, ACC, or similar software is preferred.
