Help us transform maternal healthcare through Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

At iPremom Pregnancy Healthcare Diagnostics, we are developing innovative AI-driven solutions to improve the early prediction and detection of pregnancy complications.

By combining genomic, transcriptomic and clinical data, our goal is to identify novel biomarkers and develop reliable predictive models that can make a meaningful difference in maternal and fetal health.

We are looking for an experienced Bioinformatician & Data Scientist to join our Data Science Team in Valencia, Spain.

About the role

You will work at the intersection of bioinformatics, machine learning and biomedical research, contributing to the development and validation of innovative diagnostic solutions.

Your work will focus on processing complex biological datasets, identifying predictive molecular signatures and developing robust, reproducible analytical workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse high-dimensional genomic, transcriptomic and other omics datasets, including NGS data.
  • Identify and evaluate biomarkers with diagnostic or prognostic potential.
  • Develop, validate and optimise machine learning and statistical models using biomedical and clinical data.
  • Design feature-selection and dimensionality-reduction strategies for high-dimensional datasets.
  • Develop, automate and maintain reproducible bioinformatics and machine learning pipelines.
  • Perform quality control and investigate potential batch effects and biological or technical variability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, bioinformaticians and clinical experts.
  • Document analytical methodologies and contribute to quality-controlled product development.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in an industry environment as a Bioinformatician, Data Scientist or similar role.
  • Proven experience analysing genomic, transcriptomic or other omics datasets.
  • Strong knowledge of NGS data analysis and bioinformatics workflows.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and/or R.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience developing machine learning models for high-dimensional datasets.
  • Understanding of feature selection, model validation, overfitting, data leakage and batch effects.
  • Ability to develop reproducible and automated analytical pipelines.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with RNA-seq, gene-expression analysis or cfRNA-seq.
  • Experience with Nextflow or Snakemake.
  • Knowledge of HPC environments or cloud computing.
  • Experience in biomarker discovery and molecular signature development.
  • Experience in biotechnology, diagnostics, healthcare or medical software companies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, IVD development, CE Mark or FDA regulatory processes.
  • Experience validating predictive models using independent cohorts.
  • Knowledge of reproductive medicine or pregnancy complications.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to contribute to innovative biomedical projects with a direct impact on maternal healthcare.
  • A multidisciplinary and scientifically stimulating working environment.
  • Hybrid working model in Valencia, Spain.
  • Competitive salary according to experience and qualifications.
  • Opportunities for scientific publications, international presentations and professional development.
  • A challenging role combining research, artificial intelligence and diagnostic product development.
