- Sponsor and coordinate strategic and governance-related change initiatives, ensuring that material changes within the remit of the role are appropriately assessed, governed, documented and implemented.
- Provide effective leadership within the assigned areas of responsibility, fostering accountability, professional integrity and sound judgement.
- Act as a credible senior representative of the company, demonstrating the judgement, integrity and professional standards expected in a supervised payment institution.
What you'll bring
The role requires a combination of strategic judgement, regulatory credibility and leadership capability appropriate for a senior position within a supervised financial institution.
In particular:
- Strong strategic leadership and the ability to translate market, regulatory and shareholder expectations into a coherent business agenda.
- Strong governance mindset and sound judgement in complex decision-making environments.
- Credibility in dealings with supervisory authorities, auditors, shareholders and senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of governance, internal control frameworks and the role and independence of control functions within regulated institutions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to operate effectively in sensitive or high-impact situations.
- Senior leadership experience within a regulated financial-services environment, ideally including payment services, banking, fintech or a comparable sector.
- Experience in strategy, M&A, shareholder management, governance and/or regulatory engagement.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment applicable to payment institutions in Germany.
- Experience working with independent control functions, particularly Internal Audit.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to balance regulatory requirements, commercial priorities and shareholder interests.
- High standards of integrity, reliability, sound judgement and professional credibility.
