About the Role:
Aspire is seeking an experienced Claims BI/Litigation Supervisor to lead and support our Bodily Injury and Litigation claims team. In this role, you will provide technical guidance, coaching, and oversight to ensure claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Property & Casualty claims experience.
- Significant experience handling:
- Bodily Injury claims
- Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury claims
- Litigated claims
- Property Damage claims
- Strong understanding of insurance industry practices, regulations, and claim handling standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and claims management systems.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior claims leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience mentoring and developing claims professionals.
- Demonstrated success managing litigation strategy and settlement negotiations.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide guidance, coaching, and technical direction to BI/Litigation adjusters.
- Lead team meetings and conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Assist with recruiting, training, onboarding, and developing top claims talent.
- Support performance management and achievement of team goals.
- Approve employee timecards and monitor productivity.
Claims Oversight & Technical Review:
- Review claims for coverage, liability, reserve adequacy, and handling quality.
- Evaluate BI and UMBI exposures and recommend negotiation strategies.
- Grant authority to accept, defer, or reject settlement demands within designated authority limits.
- Approve settlements and claim payments within assigned authority.
- Ensure claims are handled in accordance with company guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Conduct ongoing reserve reviews and direct reserve adjustments when appropriate.
Litigation Management:
- Monitor litigated claims for timely handling and resolution.
- Review legal and vendor invoices and authorize appropriate payments.
- Monitor filing deadlines, pleadings, and litigation-related activities.
- Assist with quarterly Litigation Calibration reporting and analysis.
- Authorize use of approved vendors, accident reconstruction experts, and other resources as necessary.
Operational Excellence:
- Assist with claim assignments and workload distribution.
- Monitor aging claims, overdue tasks, inactive files, and reserve exceptions.
- Respond to escalated customer concerns and complaint calls.
- Support training on systems and tools including claims management platforms, reporting portals, DocuSign, ISO Claim Search, and related technologies.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, Department of Insurance requirements, and company policies.
