| Experience | 8-12 years overall; 5+ years hands-on in Braze; 3+ years in architect or Developer roles |
| Employment Type | Full-time |
EXL is a global data analytics and digital operations and solutions company. We partner with clients to improve business outcomes and unlock growth, combining deep domain expertise, advanced analytics, AI, and cloud technologies to transform customer experiences.
We are seeking a Braze Architect to serve as the technical and strategic authority on Braze and the surrounding customer data ecosystem. You will define target-state architectures that connect Braze with CDPs, reverse ETL tools, product analytics, and cloud data warehouses (Hightouch, Amperity, Amplitude, Snowflake, and similar). You will lead enterprise-scale implementations and migrations, set engineering and governance standards, advise senior client stakeholders, and build the practice's reusable assets and talent.
- Define end-to-end Braze reference architectures covering workspace and app-group strategy, data model, identity, custom attributes and events, currencies, catalogs, and multi-brand / multi-region setups.
- Design scalable, secure, and compliant integration patterns across Braze, CDPs, data warehouses, and source systems (batch, streaming, and API-driven).
- Architect Canvas Flow journeys and orchestration frameworks for email, push, in-app, SMS, WhatsApp, Content Cards, and webhooks.
- Establish personalization architecture using Liquid, Connected Content, Catalogs, Content Blocks, and Braze AI features (Intelligent Timing, Intelligent Selection, predictive models).
- Conduct architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, and performance and rate-limit planning for high-volume sends.
- Design identity resolution and unified customer profile strategy, including external ID management, anonymous-to-known merges, and alias handling.
- Architect warehouse-native activation using Snowflake with Hightouch or Census, and Braze Cloud Data Ingestion and Snowflake Data Sharing.
- Integrate Amperity for identity stitching, unified profiles, and audience activation into Braze.
- Design behavioral data flows with Amplitude (events, cohorts, predictions) in both directions with Braze, including Currents for engagement data return.
- Define event taxonomy, schema governance, data contracts, and data-quality monitoring across the stack.
- Establish consent, privacy, and preference-management architecture (GDPR, CCPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA where applicable).
- Lead technical delivery across implementation, migration, and optimization programs, including migrations from Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable, Klaviyo, Adobe Campaign, or Oracle Responsys.
- Set standards for SDK integration (iOS, Android, Web), API usage, CI/CD for Braze assets, environment management, and QA/testing.
- Define deliverability strategy: IP warm-up, domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), BIMI, and sender reputation management.
- Establish experimentation frameworks (A/B, multivariate, holdouts) and measurement for incremental lift, LTV, churn, and ROI.
- Define operating models, RACI, and Center of Excellence structures for client marketing technology teams.
- Run discovery workshops with CMO, CDO, and CTO-level stakeholders and translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
- Lead solution design, estimation, and proposals for pre-sales; present to clients and analysts.
- Build reusable accelerators, templates, reference architectures, and playbooks for the EXL Braze practice.
- Mentor leads, developers, and campaign specialists; drive Braze and CDP certification across the team.
- 5+ years hands-on Braze experience with demonstrated architect-level ownership of at least two enterprise implementations or migrations.
- Deep command of Canvas Flow, segmentation, Liquid, Connected Content, Catalogs, Content Blocks, and Braze AI capabilities.
- Expert knowledge of Braze SDKs, REST API, SCIM, export endpoints, webhooks, Currents, Cloud Data Ingestion, and Snowflake Data Sharing.
- Strong understanding of Braze rate limits, data points, and cost / performance optimization.
- Braze certification (Architect, Developer, or Marketer) strongly preferred.
