The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineering Manager to lead the engineering strategy, infrastructure, technical operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of broadcast systems and media technology environments.
The ideal candidate will oversee broadcast engineering across studios, control rooms, transmission systems, production facilities, outside broadcasts, contribution networks, playout, media processing, streaming, and related technical platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement broadcast engineering strategies aligned with operational, technical, and business objectives.
- Lead the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of broadcast infrastructure and technical systems.
- Manage engineering operations supporting television, radio, streaming, live production, and digital media services.
- Oversee studio systems, control rooms, master control, playout, transmission, production, and post-production infrastructure.
- Manage cameras, lenses, vision mixers, routing systems, production switchers, graphics systems, intercoms, monitoring, and audio systems.
- Oversee servers, storage, media asset systems, automation platforms, encoding, decoding, and media processing infrastructure.
- Manage broadcast contribution and distribution networks, satellite, fiber, IP, microwave, and other transmission technologies.
- Support migration from traditional SDI environments to IP-based broadcast architectures.
- Establish technical standards for video, audio, signal flow, connectivity, synchronization, and media quality.
- Manage broadcast engineering projects from requirements definition through design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and operational handover.
- Coordinate with production, editorial, content, IT, cybersecurity, facilities, operations, and commercial teams.
- Define technical requirements and specifications for new broadcast systems and infrastructure.
- Evaluate broadcast technologies, equipment, software platforms, vendors, and system integrators.
- Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concept projects, demonstrations, and technology assessments.
- Manage system integration, configuration, testing, acceptance, and performance validation.
- Coordinate factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing for major broadcast projects.
- Establish preventive and corrective maintenance programs for critical broadcast equipment.
- Monitor system availability, reliability, redundancy, performance, and technical service levels.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for broadcast failures, signal issues, outages, and recurring technical problems.
- Coordinate technical response to live broadcast incidents and major service disruptions.
- Develop business continuity, disaster recovery, redundancy, and emergency broadcast procedures.
- Ensure critical systems have appropriate backup, failover, resilience, and recovery capabilities.
- Manage broadcast monitoring systems and technical alerting processes.
- Oversee audio and video quality, synchronization, signal integrity, loudness, encoding, and transmission performance.
- Support broadcast automation, scheduling, playout, traffic, newsroom, production, and media-management systems.
- Coordinate technical requirements for live events, outside broadcasts, remote production, and temporary broadcast facilities.
- Manage broadcast facilities, technical rooms, racks, cabling, power, cooling, and equipment environments in coordination with facilities teams.
- Ensure appropriate electrical, environmental, grounding, and equipment protection standards are maintained.
- Manage broadcast engineering vendors, service providers, consultants, manufacturers, and system integrators.
- Define vendor SLAs, support requirements, warranties, maintenance agreements, and technical performance expectations.
- Monitor supplier performance, response times, service quality, and technical issue resolution.
- Manage engineering budgets, capital expenditure, operating expenses, and technology investment plans.
- Develop business cases and ROI assessments for broadcast infrastructure upgrades and modernization initiatives.
- Maintain equipment inventories, asset registers, technical documentation, system diagrams, and configuration records.
- Establish engineering procedures, technical standards, operating manuals, maintenance documentation, and change-control processes.
- Ensure all engineering changes are properly assessed, tested, documented, approved, and implemented.
- Coordinate cybersecurity requirements for broadcast networks, production systems, servers, applications, and connected devices.
- Support cloud-based broadcast, remote production, virtualization, software-defined workflows, and distributed media architectures.
- Evaluate emerging technologies including IP production, cloud playout, AI-assisted production, remote production, automation, and advanced media processing.
- Train and develop broadcast engineers, technicians, and technical operations personnel.
- Establish technical competency requirements, training plans, escalation procedures, and knowledge-sharing practices.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in broadcast engineering, television engineering, media technology, transmission, studio operations, broadcast IT, live production, or digital media infrastructure, preferably within television networks, radio organizations, streaming platforms, production companies, media groups, or large-scale broadcast environments.
The candidate should demonstrate:
