Responsibilities

You will be required to assist in all aspects of general insurance administration and broker support, which may at times extend beyond the duties listed below.

Managing day-to-day insurance administration, including preparing quotations, processing policy documentation, managing renewals, updating client records, liaising with insurers and clients, and supporting brokers with routine insurance requirements.

This will require you to work closely with Australian insurance brokers, clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to ensure policies are accurately processed, documentation is complete, and client requirements are handled within required timeframes.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to insurance brokers.
  • Maintain accurate client, policy, and insurance information in Insight.
  • Prepare and process insurance quotations and applications.
  • Assist with new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and policy adjustments.
  • Obtain and review client information and supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with insurers and underwriters regarding quotations, policy requirements, and documentation.
  • Follow up clients for outstanding information and documentation.
  • Prepare and issue certificates of currency, policy schedules, and other insurance documents.
  • Monitor renewal dates and assist with renewal preparation and follow-ups.
  • Process routine policy changes and ensure records are updated in Insight.
  • Assist with claims administration and follow-ups as directed by the broker.
  • Maintain accurate electronic client and policy files.
  • Prepare client correspondence and provide updates as required.
  • Track outstanding tasks and ensure follow-ups are completed within required timeframes.
  • Identify missing information or potential issues and escalate them to the broker.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with internal processes and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling client and insurance information.
  • Support brokers with other administrative and operational tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Australian general insurance, insurance broking, or a similar insurance support role.
  • Experience using Insight is required.
  • Experience supporting Australian insurance brokers is highly desirable.
  • Sound understanding of general insurance processes, including quotations, renewals, endorsements, policy changes, and cancellations.
  • Exposure to commercial insurance products such as property, public liability, professional indemnity, motor, and workers' compensation is advantageous.
  • Experience using insurance broking, CRM, policy management, or insurer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling policy documentation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple policies, renewals, and client requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to liaise professionally with clients, insurers, underwriters, and brokers.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and cloud-based systems.
