Arbetet utgår från psykometri och innefattar utveckling, kvalitetssäkring och analys av test som används för att mäta exempelvis personlighet, problemlösningsförmåga och arbetsrelaterade beteenden. I verksamheten ingår både metodutveckling och mer praktiskt arbete, såsom att strukturera testmaterial, arbeta med datakvalitet och vidareutveckla digitala systemstöd. Roller kan därför innehålla en kombination av analytiska och mer operativa uppgifter. HI Assessments arbetar främst mot organisationer som använder tester i urval, utveckling och forskning, till exempel företag, konsultbolag och offentliga verksamheter.
