Building Surveyor - Nottingham | £48K-£55K

An award-winning Nottinghamshire-based multi-service practice is hiring a Building Surveyor to join its growing team.

A 50+ practice across its UK network with momentum behind it after a couple of years of fast growth, a strong technical delivery culture, and a wide-ranging workload that keeps things varied week to week.

Why this matters for you... the breadth of work spans multiple sectors and services, so you’ll build a well-rounded CV faster than you would at a specialist practice.

For a Building Surveyor earlier or mid-career, it’s a strong route to developing broader experience and progressing quickly.

You’ll work on live surveying projects across the full lifecycle, from inspections and surveys through to specifications, contract administration and project monitoring.

The Building Surveyor role, day to day:

  • Carrying out building surveys, condition surveys and dilapidations work.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
  • Contract administration on live projects, including progress inspections and certification.
  • Advising clients on defects, remedial work and refurbishment options.
  • Supporting on Principal Designer and CDM-related work where relevant.
  • Engaging directly with clients, contractors and consultants across live projects.
  • Working across a varied sector and service mix.

What we’re looking for in this Building Surveyor:

  • Degree in Building Surveying or similar, chartered with RICS (or working towards MRICS).
  • A few years of UK practice experience across a range of surveying work.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
  • Confident client-facing, with a methodical, organised approach.
  • Comfortable managing your own workload across multiple projects.
  • Full UK driving licence (site and client visits form part of the role).

Why this Building Surveyor role in Nottingham is worth a look:

  • A fast-growing practice with momentum behind it (50+ team across its UK network, up considerably over the last couple of years).
  • A multi-sector, multi-service portfolio: more variety of project types than a single-discipline consultancy can offer.
  • A chartered practice with a strong reputation and recent industry recognition.
  • A strong route to broader experience and faster progression for the right person.
  • Nottingham location with hybrid working
