Your role

You'll be part of our Office of General Counsel (OGC), which plays a critical role in supporting the firm's compliance, risk management and governance obligations. The team works closely with partners, lawyers and Corporate Services teams across the firm to maintain robust internal controls, manage professional obligations and support ethical and compliant business practices.

As a Business Administrator in our Office of General Counsel, you will:

  • Coordinate a range of compliance, governance and risk administration processes, including securities trading requests, information barriers, practising certificate renewals and private work applications.
  • Maintain accurate records, registers and databases to support the firm's compliance obligations, including conflicts, risk, certification and governance-related information.
  • Support certification and admissions processes for lawyers and graduates, liaising with Law Societies and other external bodies to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Monitor shared inboxes, manage administrative workflows, coordinate approvals and follow up outstanding actions.
  • Run reports and prepare information to assist the OGC team with compliance reviews, risk management activities and decision-making.
  • Assist with conflicts administration, information barrier maintenance and data quality activities, identifying issues and escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support for OGC matters, including file management, matter opening and closing, document filing and archiving.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the firm while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. The role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney.

At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.
