SENIOR/UPPER-INTERMEDIATE TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST / BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior/Upper-Intermediate Technical Business Analyst (Business Systems Analyst) to join our consulting team, supporting leading clients within the Banking and Insurance sectors. The successful candidate will work on integration systems, risk, and transformation initiatives, contributing to the delivery of high-impact solutions within Agile environments. This role suits a technically strong BA who is comfortable working across complex systems, engaging with senior stakeholders, and driving clarity between business needs and technical delivery teams — and who is open to contracting through a consulting firm across multiple client engagements. Requirements: IT Diploma/Degree or BA Diploma required(non-negotiable) 6–10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst, with a strong technical bias Must have proven experience within Finance, Banking, Investment, or Insurance industries only (non-negotiable) Experience working on application development, systems integration, and/or risk-related projects Strong proficiency in requirements and process modelling (UML, BPMN) Solid working knowledge of SQL for data querying and analysis Strong exposure to SOAP APIs, WSDL, and RESTful API concepts — able to engage confidently with developers/architects on integration design Experience with Jira (user stories, backlog, sprint tracking) Experience with Confluence for documentation Strong Excel skills for data analysis Solid understanding of end-to-end system integrations Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum and/or Kanban) Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows Core Competencies: Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including with senior/technical stakeholders Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, delivery-focused environments Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex business needs into structured, technically sound requirements Engage with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document requirements Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and user stories Support end-to-end delivery of digital, risk, and application-based projects Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions, and sprint ceremonies Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams in Agile environments Lead or assist in backlog grooming, prioritisation, and scope management Ensure requirements traceability and alignment to business objectives Contribute to continuous improvement of BA practices and delivery processes
