The Role

As a Business Analyst at Amplify, you will help translate business and product requirements into clear, actionable specifications that the Creatorverse team can confidently build and deliver.

You will be a key member of the Creatorverse team, working closely with Product, Experience Design, and Engineering. Your role will focus on ensuring that requirements are clearly documented, properly broken down, and ready for development. This includes writing clear acceptance criteria, breaking down complex requirements into manageable user stories, and making sure that all necessary information is available before work moves into development.

This role requires strong attention to detail, curiosity, persistence, and excellent written communication. You should be comfortable asking questions, challenging unclear requirements, and working collaboratively with different teams to make sure everyone is aligned.

This is a focused contract engagement with a defined objective: to bring the existing backlog to a standard where Engineering can confidently build without needing to make assumptions, while also keeping the requirements pipeline sufficiently ahead of development.

Key Responsibilities

Acceptance Criteria

  • Write clear, specific, and testable acceptance criteria that allow QA to create and execute test cases without needing additional clarification.
  • Ensure requirements meet the team's Definition of Ready, including clearly defined objectives, testable criteria, linked designs, and identified dependencies.
  • Review and work through backlog items based on priority and the agreed execution sequence.
  • Ensure requirements are complete and sufficiently detailed before they are handed over to Engineering.

Requirement Decomposition

  • Break down complex requirements into clear, manageable, and development-ready user stories.
  • Ensure stories are logically structured and follow the appropriate dependencies and sequence.
  • Refine existing or in-progress requirements while maintaining the original scope and avoiding duplicated or unnecessary work.
  • Review requirements against delivered features to ensure previously completed work is not unnecessarily recreated or duplicated.

Backlog Management & Traceability

  • Ensure each ticket is properly linked to the relevant documentation, requirement, or source of truth.
  • Identify and flag tickets that do not have clear documentation or context.
  • Review stalled, inactive, or incorrectly tagged tasks and work with the appropriate stakeholders to determine the next steps.
  • Follow up on outstanding questions and ensure they result in either a clear decision, assigned owner, or agreed deadline.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and up-to-date backlog.

Forward Planning & Requirements Pipeline

  • Support the Product and Engineering teams in preparing requirements for upcoming release cycles.
  • Ensure requirements are sufficiently ahead of development to minimize delays caused by incomplete specifications.
  • Progress requirements from early drafts or incomplete states through to full build-readiness.
  • Facilitate reviews with Design and Engineering leads to address questions, incorporate feedback, and secure alignment before development begins.

Analysis & Collaboration

  • Review requirements critically to identify missing scenarios, error states, permissions, dependencies, and potential edge cases.
  • Ask thoughtful questions to understand the purpose and rationale behind requested features.
  • Ensure features are grounded in clear user or business needs rather than assumptions or preferences.
  • Identify ambiguities and gaps in requirements and proactively raise them with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, Product, Design, Engineering, and QA to reach clear and practical solutions.

Handover

  • Provide a comprehensive handover at the end of the engagement.
  • Document relevant templates, processes, project conventions, and other information required to ensure continuity.
  • Ensure the team has the necessary documentation and context to maintain the backlog and requirements process moving forward.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional Experience: 2–4 years of experience working directly with software/product delivery requirements. Experience should involve requirements gathering, documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and working closely with Product or Engineering teams. General business analysis, financial analysis, or reporting-only experience will not be considered sufficient.
  • Acceptance Criteria: Demonstrated experience writing clear Given/When/Then acceptance criteria that QA or Engineering teams can use without ambiguity. Candidates should be prepared to provide examples.
  • Requirement Decomposition: Experience breaking down complex requirements or specifications into clear, manageable user stories based on logical dependencies.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Strong ability to review requirements, identify missing information or scenarios, and proactively raise potential issues.
  • Tools: Strong working knowledge of Jira, Linear, Notion, or similar project management and documentation tools. Experience with Notion is an advantage, as our internal workflows are primarily Notion-based.
  • Communication: Confident communicator who is comfortable asking questions, clarifying requirements, and respectfully challenging assumptions when needed.
  • Written English: Excellent written English, with the ability to create clear and detailed documentation that can serve as a reference for Engineering and QA.
  • Availability & Location: Based in the Philippines, with a 14–21 day availability/start lead time and the ability to maintain consistent daily working-hour overlap with the Sydney team.
  • Contract: This is a fixed-term contract focused primarily on backlog clearance and requirements readiness. While an extension is not guaranteed, future opportunities may be discussed based on business requirements.

Preferred Skills

The following are advantageous but not required:

  • Industry Experience: Exposure to influencer marketing, creator economy, AdTech, MarTech, or digital advertising.
  • Marketplace Experience: Experience working with two-sided platforms where the end user and paying customer are different user groups.
  • Agile Experience: Practical experience working in Agile environments, particularly within teams that are improving or evolving their delivery processes.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with data relationships, entity mapping, user roles, permissions, or other complex product/technical concepts.
  • Remote Collaboration: Experience working effectively with distributed teams across different countries and time zones.
