About the client
ACT-IT is the leading software solution provider on the island of Curaçao. ACT-IT focuses primarily on government entities. ACT-IT builds the systems governments run on for, for instance, border control, justice, and regulatory oversight.
ACT-IT has a dedicated team of remote developers and system administrators in Colombia. Because they have a legal entity in Colombia, they provide COP salaries and the full set of Colombian benefits.
About the role
The Business Analyst is responsible for the total requirement definition of the projects of a client. You will be part of an international team of Business Analysts. The requirements and behavior you specify will determine how a public system treats a real person.
What you will do
Gather and specify requirements across the full operational flow, and defend them.
Translate the client’s legislation, rules, and policies into clear, verifiable system behavior.
Model the manual contingency procedures that apply when automation fails, which is where most real incidents happen.
Prepare and support the client’s user acceptance testing (UAT), and decide whether a finding blocks a release.
What ACT-IT is looking for:
Three things matter more than anything else:
requirements engineering you can demonstrate,
enough technical judgment to work at the interface level,
and the confidence to lead a room.
Requirements
College degree.
3+ years as a Business Analyst, including at least one mission-critical or regulated system.
English level B2 to C1. Requirements, documentation, and meetings with the Curaçao teams are in English.
Strong communication & presentation skills - clear & direct.
Analytical, Methodical and Process oriented mindset.
You can read an OpenAPI definition and a data structure.
You are willing to learn SQL to profile data on your own.
Training in IIBA, IREB or BPMN is welcome, not required.
Experience in a multinational or with teams abroad is a plus.
If you meet most of this and you are upfront about what you lack, we encourage you to apply.
How we work
We expect analysts to sit with end users in their operational environment during real operations. Requirements written only from a meeting room age badly, and we want you to see it for yourself.
You work to the analysis standard of a Senior Business Analyst, who reviews your stories before they enter the sprint and hands you more complex requirements as you grow. The Product Owner / Team Lead handles people management.
You work remotely from Colombia with teams in Curaçao, one hour apart, and you travel to Curaçao a few times a year.
Working with AI
Our systems are starting to support decisions about people. Writing responsible requirements for that, with accuracy targets, human oversight, and explainability, is a scarce skill. You would develop it here.
Offer
Base Salary of COP 5,500,000 to 8,500,000 gross per month
100% remote position with a few trips to Curaçao every year
Only candidates in Colombia will be considered due to the legal entity of the client in Colombia
Full-time, permanent contract with all legal benefits
Apply through this page with your CV and a short note, in English, that includes:
A requirement you specified badly and what you changed because of it.
An example of how you use AI tools in your analysis work.
