We are an international community of more than 4,000 people, representing almost 80 nationalities across 11 countries. Our hybrid workspaces are designed to encourage collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and ongoing learning.

Riverty combines empathy, advanced technology, and data-driven insights to help people and businesses stay financially in flow. We provide flexible payment solutions across multiple industries, supporting well-known brands and helping customers manage their finances and repay debt with greater confidence. As part of the family-owned Bertelsmann group, we bring together an established corporate foundation and the pace of a fast-moving FinTech environment.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Product team in Berlin. In this role, you will help shape and deliver our Consumer Risk Platform, a core capability supporting real-time credit decisioning, fraud prevention, and customer risk assessment across our buy now, pay later (BNPL) and checkout products.

You will work across Product, Risk, Data Science, Compliance, and Engineering. Your focus will be translating complex business, risk, and regulatory needs into clear requirements and scalable platform solutions. From discovery through delivery and post-implementation evaluation, you will help ensure that our systems support effective decision-making and positive customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis for complex, cross-functional initiatives throughout discovery, delivery, and post-implementation review.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in customer risk, fraud prevention, and underwriting, identifying opportunities to improve processes and products.
  • Translate business needs into clear epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements aligned with architectural principles.
  • Own and refine requirements across the risk platform landscape, including workflow and decision engines, data platforms, and third-party integrations.
  • Support testing strategies and validate complex business logic to confirm that solutions meet agreed requirements.
  • Assess how changes in risk practices and regulations, including applicable BaFin and EU requirements, may affect systems, processes, and customer journeys.
  • Collaborate with product leadership, Engineering, and Data Science to inform priorities and roadmap decisions.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to improving analysis frameworks and team practices.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or in a comparable role within FinTech, payments, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of risk, fraud, or payment processing systems, with experience leading complex initiatives and engaging cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to convert business needs into scalable system designs, including APIs, workflows, and data models.
  • Experience working in agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban, including backlog ownership and refinement.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • A high degree of ownership and autonomy, and fluency in English. German language skills are an advantage.

Experience with BNPL, consumer finance, credit risk decisioning, fraud detection, or rule- and machine-learning-based decision engines is beneficial. Familiarity with SQL, Python, Databricks, or Power BI is also an advantage.

Benefits

Join an international team working on products with a practical impact on how people and businesses manage payments. Riverty offers hybrid working conditions in Berlin and the opportunity to collaborate across a diverse, multi-country organization. You will work alongside colleagues in Product, Risk, Data Science, Compliance, and Engineering, with opportunities to share expertise and contribute to the development of financial technology.

Equal Opportunity

Riverty welcomes applicants with varied backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We value respectful collaboration and encourage qualified candidates to apply, regardless of background or identity.
