Business Analyst, Odoo Finance & Billing (Freelance optional)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

About the assignment

The role supports the replacement of an existing charging platform with AMPECO as the new CPMS. Odoo remains the ERP and billing engine. The main focus is the integration between AMPECO and Odoo, with reliable financial flows covering rating, invoicing, payments, roaming settlement, accounting and reconciliation.

You will connect Finance with the delivery teams and work closely with the Finance Controller, Odoo developers, the integration partner and the CPMS provider.

What will you do?

You will take functional ownership of the finance scope within the Odoo implementation:

• Map end-to-end financial flows for B2B, B2C, fleet, split billing, CPO revenue and eMSP roaming, from charging session to invoice, payment and journal entry.
• Translate tariffs, subscriptions, bundles, promotions and roaming agreements into Odoo billing rules and accounting logic.
• Prepare current-state and future-state process documentation, functional specifications, data mappings, interface contracts and business rules for the CPMS, Odoo, PSP and bank integration.
• Define the accounting treatment with Finance, including accounts, VAT, analytics, accruals, credit notes and revenue recognition.
• Design reconciliation processes between CPMS transactions, PSP settlements, bank statements and the general ledger, including exception and dispute handling.
• Facilitate workshops, challenge requirements, decide between standard and custom Odoo behaviour, and keep the scope under control.
• Manage the finance backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritisation and delivery follow-up.
• Plan and execute finance testing, including integration tests, UAT, simulated month-end closing and reconciliation dry-runs.
• Ensure full auditability so that every invoice line can be traced back to a charging session and forward to the corresponding accounting entry.

📝 Your profile

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business engineering or an equivalent qualification. Equivalent professional expertise is also considered.
• You bring four to five years of experience in business analysis or functional analysis, with a focus on finance, billing or ERP environments.
• You have experience in IT projects and are comfortable representing Finance in discussions with technical delivery teams.
• You are fluent in English, which is mandatory, and have a good command of either French or Dutch.
• You understand AR/AP, invoicing and credit notes, VAT, accruals, reconciliation, month-end closing and audit trails.
• You have expert-level functional knowledge of Odoo, with hands-on experience in Accounting, Invoicing and Subscriptions. You can translate business needs into workable Odoo configurations and functional specifications.
• You are familiar with system integration and data mapping, including the documentation of interfaces, business rules and data flows.
• You are comfortable with high-volume, automated transaction flows and can design controls for exceptions instead of checking every transaction manually.
• You communicate clearly in writing and produce specifications, mappings and test cases that developers can use without further interpretation.
• You challenge unclear ownership, investigate discrepancies to their root cause, and keep Finance, Commercial, Product and IT aligned.
• Experience in e-mobility, energy, payments, telco or another usage-based billing environment is an advantage.

Practical information

• Availability: five days per week.
• Work location: offices in Kortenberg and Boitsfort, with hybrid working. On-site presence is expected during workshops, testing and cutover phases.

With AMPECO as the new CPMS and Odoo as the existing ERP and billing engine, the programme is building a foundation for future charging activities and partnerships.

Reporting line

The Business Analyst, Finance and Billing, is part of the Odoo workstream within the CPMS programme. The role reports to the Odoo Project Manager and has a functional reporting line to the CFO.
