Position Summary
The Business Analyst partners with R&D, Medical and IT stakeholders to support the delivery of business-focused, compliant digital solutions.
The role gathers and documents business requirements, supports business process analysis, facilitates stakeholder discussions, contributes to solution evaluations, and supports testing and adoption activities.
Working closely with Senior Business Analysts, Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, Engineers and Quality teams, the Business Analyst helps ensure solutions meet business and operational needs while complying with quality, security, privacy and GxP/CSV requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Support discovery workshops, interviews and working sessions to understand current processes, confirm business needs and gather requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand operational challenges, objectives, risks and success measures.
- Elicit, analyse, document and maintain business, functional, data, reporting and compliance requirements.
- Produce and maintain business analysis deliverables, including business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, workflows, use cases, functional specifications, requirements traceability matrices and meeting summaries.
- Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors and subject matter experts.
- Support solution evaluations by documenting business needs, conducting analyses and contributing to recommendations.
- Analyse current and future business processes and identify opportunities for improvement, standardisation, simplification, automation and digital innovation.
- Collaborate with data and analytics teams to document reporting, analytics, data quality, critical data elements, business rules and information management requirements.
- Participate in solution design reviews, testing, deployment readiness, training support and user adoption initiatives.
- Incorporate GxP, CSV, quality, privacy and security requirements into business requirements and documentation.
- Support Quality and CSV teams with requirements traceability, testing, User Acceptance Testing coordination, validation documentation and audit readiness.
- Support business case development, benefits assessments, business process impact analysis and scope definition.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis practices, standards, templates and methodologies.
- Continuously develop knowledge of business analysis, R&D and Medical processes, technologies and emerging digital capabilities.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- 3 to 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, Associate Product Analyst or in a similar role supporting business and technology initiatives.
- At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, clinical research, regulatory, quality or medical affairs.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience in business process analysis, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, process models and business analysis documentation.
- Experience working with business stakeholders and cross-functional technology teams.
- Understanding of Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Exposure to SaaS platforms, integrations, analytics, reporting or data-driven solutions.
- Understanding of User Acceptance Testing and business validation activities.
- Working knowledge of GxP/CSV principles and regulated environments is desirable.
- Strong communication, documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a matrix organisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering or a related discipline.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Experience supporting R&D or Medical business processes and technologies.
- Exposure to business case development and solution evaluation.
- Knowledge of business process modelling tools and methodologies, including BPMN, Visio or Lucidchart.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira or equivalent application lifecycle management tools.
- Experience with life sciences platforms, such as Veeva, clinical, regulatory, electronic Trial Master File or Medical systems.
- Proficiency in French.
Preferred Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering or a related discipline.
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, PSPO or Agile Business Analysis certification.
