Role - RQ00384 Clinical Business Analyst – Patient Access

Duration - Contract for 2 year with 2 years of extension

we are seeking an experienced Clinical Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst with strong healthcare IT experience, particularly in Patient Access, Registration, and Scheduling.

The successful candidate will support healthcare information system and EHR/CIS implementation projects, working closely with healthcare providers, subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, facilitate workshops, and develop detailed business analysis documentation.

Experience within a Canadian acute care healthcare environment is highly important for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform business analysis for Patient Access, Registration, and Scheduling functions.
• Gather and document business and system requirements.
• Facilitate workshops with healthcare providers, SMEs, and stakeholders.
• Conduct use case analysis and business process analysis.
• Develop detailed business analysis documentation, user stories, and use cases.
• Analyze healthcare workflows and translate operational requirements into system requirements.
• Support EHR/CIS implementation and health information system projects.
• Work closely with clinical, technical, and business teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support detailed solution design activities related to Patient Access.
• Collaborate with project team members, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders at all levels.
• Manage multiple project streams and activities simultaneously.
• Provide clear communication, presentations, and status updates to stakeholders.
• Support requirements related to clinical areas such as CPOE, order sets, clinical documentation, Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, and Laboratory.
• Contribute to project documentation and ongoing requirements management.

Mandatory Qualifications

• University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Clinical Business Analyst, Clinical Informatics Analyst, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience working with Patient Access, Registration, and Scheduling.
• 5+ years of experience working with acute care Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations related to Patient Access.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst on health information system or CIS implementation projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering similar-scale Patient Access / Registration / Scheduling initiatives within a Canadian acute care healthcare system.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design, and business analysis documentation.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Patient Access-related clinical business analysis.
• Experience with one or more of:
• CPOE
• Order Sets
• Clinical Documentation
• Pharmacy
• Medical Imaging
• Laboratory
• French and English bilingual verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience facilitating workshops with healthcare providers.
• Experience developing user stories and use cases.
• Ability to work with a high degree of self-direction.
• Experience managing multiple teams, workstreams, and project activities.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and Teams.
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA in a project environment.
• Previous experience working within public health authorities.
• Strong understanding of public healthcare policies, practices, and operational environments.
