At Forbes Advisor, our mission is to help readers turn their aspirations into reality. We arm people with trusted advice and guidance so they can make informed decisions they feel confident in and get back to doing the things they care about most.

We are an experienced team of industry experts dedicated to helping readers make smart decisions and choose the right products with ease. Forbes Advisor boasts decades of experience across dozens of geographies and teams, including Content, SEO, Business Intelligence, Finance, HR, Marketing, Production, Technology and Sales. The team brings rich industry knowledge to Forbes Advisor's global coverage of consumer credit, debt, health, home improvement, banking, investing, credit cards, small business, education, insurance, loans, real estate and travel.

We combine data-driven content, rigorous product comparisons and user-first design, supported by a modern, scalable technology and data platform. Our global teams bring together expertise across performance marketing, product, commercial operations, data and analytics.

Our Data & Analytics organisation builds the products, platforms and intelligence that support commercial decision making across the business.

Overview

We're looking for a Business Analytics Manager who can turn complex business performance data into clear insights, recommendations and better commercial decisions.

You'll lead a small team of Analysts working directly with our business verticals, acting as a trusted analytics partner to General Managers and their commercial teams. Your focus will be on helping the business understand its performance, identify opportunities for growth and make better decisions through accurate, actionable data.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines commercial understanding, analytical expertise and stakeholder management. You'll help your team move beyond reporting what happened to explaining why it happened, what it means for the business and what we should do next.

The Opportunity

Our Business Analytics team works directly with General Managers and their teams to understand commercial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

You'll manage a small team of Analysts aligned to different business verticals, helping them become trusted partners to their stakeholders while maintaining a consistent standard of analytical quality across the organisation.

A significant part of the role involves understanding how the business makes money, from traffic acquisition and customer journeys through to conversions, partner performance, revenue and profitability. You'll help ensure that commercial and financial reporting is accurate, explainable and trusted, working closely with Finance and other Data teams to investigate discrepancies and improve the underlying information.

You'll also work with senior stakeholders to translate business questions into clear analytical requirements, prioritise opportunities and turn complex findings into compelling stories and practical recommendations.

This is an opportunity to shape how Analytics supports the business, developing a team that proactively identifies opportunities rather than simply responding to reporting requests.

What You'll Do

Commercial Performance & Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted analytics partner to General Managers and senior commercial stakeholders, helping them understand the drivers of revenue, profitability and business performance. You'll work with your team to identify trends, investigate changes in performance and recommend opportunities for growth, ensuring analysis is grounded in a strong understanding of how each business operates.

Financial Accuracy & Data Confidence

  • Help establish confidence in the commercial data used to manage the business. You'll work closely with Finance, Revenue Operations and Data Engineering to understand revenue, costs, partner performance and profitability, investigate discrepancies and ensure reporting is accurate and explainable. You'll champion analytical rigour while recognising the importance of delivering timely, practical information to stakeholders.

Business Insight & Storytelling

  • Guide your team in translating complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences. You'll help Analysts move beyond dashboards and descriptive reporting to explain the underlying drivers of performance, challenge assumptions and communicate what the business should do next. You'll also help identify opportunities for deeper analysis, forecasting and experimentation.

Analytics Products & Business Requirements

  • Translate commercial questions into clear analytical requirements, working with Analytics, BI, Engineering and Data Science teams to develop scalable reporting and insight products. You'll help identify where reusable datasets, dashboards and analytical approaches can replace repetitive work, improve consistency and enabling stakeholders to access trusted information more independently.

Team Leadership & Prioritisation

  • Lead and develop a small team of vertical-aligned Analysts, supporting their technical development, commercial understanding and stakeholder relationships. You'll help prioritise work across business areas, balance immediate commercial needs with longer-term improvements, and ensure the team's capacity is focused on delivering the greatest value. You'll remain technically involved, reviewing analytical approaches and helping the team tackle complex problems.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical expertise with commercial judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team.

You'll likely bring:

  • Experience in business analytics, commercial analytics or performance analytics, including experience managing or mentoring Analysts.
  • Strong commercial understanding, with experience analysing revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, sales performance or other key business drivers.
  • Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders, translating complex questions into analytical requirements and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly and influence commercial decisions.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Experience with BI and visualisation platforms such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker.
  • A strong understanding of data quality, reporting accuracy and the importance of reconciling commercial information with financial outcomes.
  • Experience prioritising analytical work across multiple stakeholders, balancing commercial urgency with analytical quality.
  • Experience coaching and developing Analysts, helping them build both technical capability and commercial confidence.
  • A proactive, curious approach to problem solving, with the ability to identify opportunities rather than simply respond to requests.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in performance marketing, affiliate marketing, lead generation or digital publishing.
  • Familiarity with marketing and acquisition data from platforms such as GA4, Google Ads, Meta or other advertising platforms.
  • Experience working with Finance, Revenue Operations or commercial reporting teams.
  • Experience analysing sales performance, partner economics, conversion funnels or customer profitability.
  • Python experience for statistical analysis, forecasting or more advanced analytical work.
  • Experience collaborating with Data Scientists on predictive modelling, experimentation or customer analytics.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery.
  • Experience developing reusable analytical products or self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Experience working with distributed teams and agile delivery processes.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to help shape how Analytics influences commercial decisions across a growing, data-driven business.

You'll work directly with senior business leaders on meaningful commercial challenges, lead a talented team of Analysts and collaborate with specialists across Engineering, BI, Data Science and Revenue Operations.

You'll have the opportunity to develop a Business Analytics function that goes beyond reporting, building trusted relationships, improving the quality of business information and helping our teams make better, faster and more profitable decisions.
