Business Consultant

Purpose
The ADS Consulting practice is growing. ADS consulting currently provides Business & Transformation; and Technology Consulting services directly to clients and in support of wider Sopra Steria business. We have an excellent track record in helping our clients exploit technology and we are excited by the possibilities to develop this further. As a result, we wish to widen the scope of our business consulting services. We are looking for customer centric, fresh and forward-thinking Consultants to drive business transformation for our clients.

As a Consultant, you will be supporting our Senior Consultants and Consulting Managers on business transformation projects and assignments within the public and private sectors. You will also be responsible for taking ownership of specific activities and outcomes as part of a consulting team whilst on smaller consulting projects.

You will be a practitioner in one or more of the following business transformation methodologies: Business Process Reengineering; Continuous Improvement; Lean; Six Sigma; Target Operating Model Design; Data Management & Analytics; Business and Technical Requirements Capture & Assessment; Programme and Business Change Management; Total Customer Experience management and design; RPA; Strategic Workforce Planning and Design

While the main focus for the role will be working with clients, you will use your knowledge of Sopra Steria’s capabilities and aspirations to identify and support development of new consulting opportunities. You will have the opportunity to lead small-to-medium scale proposals and shape the development of future business.

We operate in a predominantly in-person delivery model that reflects the expectations of our clients and the nature of our work. While we recognise the flexibility benefits introduced during the COVID-19 period, the industry has evolved and a fully remote approach is no longer aligned with client needs. As such, our consultants are typically expected to be on-site or in the office at least three days per week, collaborating closely with stakeholders and teams to drive outcomes. This balanced approach maintains some flexibility while ensuring high-quality delivery, strong client relationships, and effective team engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Live the consulting-led culture by embracing innovative, highly disruptive technologies that support new ways of working in a digital world
Deliver business consulting within ADS clients or the wider government or public sector
Build consulting assets during a project and complete an end of project case study to share learning and experience
Ensure effective client and senior management engagement during an assignment and identify any issues and potential solutions that arise, escalating these as appropriate.
Develop a personal network of contacts within the team/project, peer group and the wider Sopra Steria organisation together with the client team and relevant sectors
Proactively look to secure an extension of their own assignment and the overall project with the client
Develop a working knowledge and expertise of consulting models and methods through networking and research, and utilises this knowledge to support ongoing personal development and contribute to the success of the team
Contribute to the wider Consulting Community through sharing personal knowledge and coaching less experienced consultants
Act as an emissary of ADS Consulting both internally and externally

Qualifications and Knowledge

MOD DV is desirable, existing MOD SC is essential
Strong knowledge of the business needs and drivers behind complex delivery and technology-enabled transformation
A clear understanding of ADS client needs and pain points
