Leveraging local expertise, extensive regional knowledge, and strong industry networks, we help organizations expand market presence, identify commercial opportunities, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and navigate complex market environments throughout the region.

We work with U.S. agricultural trade organizations, industry associations, and agribusiness clients to support market development, trade servicing, market research, stakeholder engagement, technical programs, and trade promotion initiatives across Latin America.

Role Description

Atlas Solutions is seeking an experienced Business Consultant in Chile to lead the in-country implementation of market development and trade servicing initiatives in the Chilean market.

The ideal candidate will be based in Chile and have an established professional network within the country’s agricultural, animal nutrition, feed, aquaculture, food, or related industries, with demonstrated experience engaging private-sector companies, industry associations, government institutions, regulatory authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.

This is a hands-on, market-facing role requiring strong local market knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to independently develop relationships, identify market opportunities, coordinate technical and trade activities, monitor industry and regulatory developments, and support international clients seeking to strengthen their presence in Chile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the in-country planning, coordination, and implementation of market development and trade servicing activities in Chile.
  • Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with relevant buyers, importers, distributors, manufacturers, producers, suppliers, and prospective commercial partners.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry associations, government agencies, regulatory authorities, technical organizations, and other institutional stakeholders.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships while continuously identifying and developing new contacts and market opportunities.
  • Identify and qualify prospective buyers, distributors, commercial partners, and other relevant market participants.
  • Monitor commercial, competitive, industry, regulatory, and market-access developments and provide timely market intelligence and recommendations.
  • Coordinate technical programs, business meetings, seminars, stakeholder engagements, and other market development activities.
  • Support buyer and seller missions, trade missions, site visits, and industry events, including stakeholder identification, meeting coordination, local logistics, and on-site implementation.
  • Follow up on commercial leads and stakeholder engagements generated through market development activities, maintaining clear records of outcomes and next steps.
  • Support clients in understanding relevant product registration, labeling, certification, import, and other market-access requirements, coordinating with appropriate technical experts and authorities as needed.
  • Conduct targeted market research and gather local industry intelligence to support program strategy and client decision-making.
  • Coordinate with industry organizations, government entities, international partners, and other stakeholders to support effective program implementation.
  • Manage local vendors and service providers when required.
  • Provide regular activity updates, stakeholder feedback, market intelligence, results, and inputs for client reporting.
  • Support annual planning, activity recommendations, budgets, performance tracking, and program reporting.
  • Represent Atlas Solutions professionally in meetings, events, industry engagements, and other in-country activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, International Business, International Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in market development, agribusiness, international trade, commercial development, program management, industry relations, or related fields.
  • Must be currently based in Chile with strong knowledge of the Chilean business, agricultural, and institutional environment.
  • Demonstrated and verifiable professional network in Chile, including relevant private-sector, industry, association, government, and/or regulatory stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging B2B stakeholders, senior industry representatives, government officials, associations, and regulatory entities.
  • Experience in animal nutrition, animal feed, feed ingredients, aquaculture, salmon, pet food, livestock, poultry, agriculture, or closely related sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience supporting market development, trade servicing, business development, or international trade initiatives.
  • Experience identifying commercial opportunities, qualifying prospective partners, and conducting stakeholder follow-up.
  • Experience coordinating business meetings, technical programs, trade missions, seminars, or industry events.
  • Ability to monitor and interpret commercial, industry, competitive, and regulatory developments.
  • Experience working with U.S. agricultural trade organizations, international industry associations, export promotion programs, or USDA-funded initiatives is strongly preferred.
  • Strong professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Strong reporting, communication, organization, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a remote and international environment.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Valid U.S. visa strongly preferred.

Additional Information

  • This is a part-time independent contractor position, approximately 20-25 hours per week.
  • The position is remote but requires the candidate to be based in Chile and available for regular in-country meetings, industry engagements, events, and other activities.
  • Domestic and occasional international travel may be required.
  • Compensation: USD $1,400 per month.
