We’re looking for a Business Continuity Manager to join our team in Bradford (BD4) on a permanent basis. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of 2 days in the office.
As our Business Continuity Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Liberty Blume’s resilience and ensuring we’re ready to respond when disruption occurs. Sitting within our Governance, Risk & Compliance function, you’ll lead the development and continuous improvement of our business continuity and operational resilience framework, covering everything from impact analysis and continuity planning to testing and improvement.
You’ll work across critical services, technology, suppliers, facilities and support functions, embedding ISO 22301-aligned best practice, identifying and mitigating continuity risks, and providing practical advice and assurance to senior stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of Liberty Blume’s Business Continuity Management System (BCMS), framework, policies and standards, aligned to ISO 22301 and operational resilience best practice.
- Embed business continuity into our wider ISO management system, working alongside frameworks including ISO 45001 for health & safety and ISO 27001 for information security.
- Lead Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) across the organisation, identifying critical activities, dependencies, minimum service levels, recovery objectives and priorities.
- Develop and maintain practical business continuity and recovery plans covering critical services, technology, locations, people and third-party suppliers.
- Design and lead testing and exercising programmes, including tabletop exercises and scenario simulations, turning lessons learned into clear improvement actions.
- Work closely with teams across incident management, cyber response, disaster recovery, crisis communications, supplier assurance and enterprise risk to ensure a joined-up approach to resilience.
- Monitor and manage business continuity risks, issues, actions and key risk indicators, ensuring these are appropriately reflected within risk registers.
- Assess supplier and technology resilience, ensuring third-party recovery capabilities and disaster recovery commitments support our operational needs.
- Build resilience awareness across the business through engaging training, guidance and support, helping teams understand their responsibilities and confidently apply continuity plans when needed.
- Keep our approach current by monitoring changes across business operations, emerging risks, client requirements, regulatory expectations and industry best practice.
We tend to look for people with:
Essential:
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience within business continuity, operational resilience, risk management or a related field.
- Proven experience developing, implementing or managing business continuity, disaster recovery and/or operational resilience frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 22301, Business Impact Analysis (BIA), recovery planning, testing and exercising, incident response and lessons-learned processes.
- Experience partnering with stakeholders across technology, operations, facilities, HR, legal, communications, procurement and senior leadership.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to identify critical vulnerabilities and dependencies and translate these into practical improvement actions.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience producing clear continuity plans, governance materials, action plans and senior-level reporting.
- Highly organised and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Desirable:
- A recognised professional qualification such as ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, ISO 22301 Lead Auditor, or an equivalent business continuity or resilience certification.
- Experience working within a technology, SaaS, managed services, outsourcing, financial services or business process outsourcing environment.
- Knowledge of wider risk and assurance frameworks, including ISO 31000, ISO 27001, IT disaster recovery and third-party risk management.
- Experience supporting ISO certification, internal or external audits, management reviews or wider assurance activities.
- Experience using GRC platforms to manage continuity plans, evidence, actions and reporting.
What’s in it for you?
- Competitive salary
- 25 days annual leave + buy up to 5 days
- Access to wellbeing and mental health benefits such as the Calm app, personal medical, critical illness cover and dental insurance, plus many more.
