About Dealroom
Dealroom helps governments, investors, corporates and ecosystem builders understand what is really happening in global tech and startups. Our platform combines structured company data, market intelligence and AI-driven insights to support strategic decisions, from investment theses and policy design to corporate innovation and M&A scouting.
We are also a company that runs on AI, in every process. In sales, that means AI scans the market for leads and signals before you start your day, and you build your own team of AI agents around you for research, prospect lists and outreach prep. They handle the groundwork, so you can focus on the essential: real conversations with the right people.
Dealroom is trusted by leading organisations across Europe and North America, and we are now scaling our North American business.
The role
You will lead business development in North America, building on an existing customer base and working alongside our customer success colleague in Toronto. Your job is to turn early traction into a scalable business. You will own the full commercial cycle from first contact to long-term customer relationship, and shape how Dealroom grows across the Atlantic.
You will report directly to Matthieu Demolin, our COO, and work with senior decision-makers at VCs, corporates, public sector bodies and ecosystem builders. There is no rigid script. We expect you to understand our customers, spot opportunities and build pipeline in a thoughtful, targeted way. Based in Amsterdam, you will work largely on North American hours, with afternoon and early evening calls, and travel to the US and Canada for key meetings and events.
What you will do
Build the North American pipeline
Identify and prioritise high-potential accounts across the US and Canada
Run outbound driven by research, insight and relevance, not volume for volume's sake
Combine LinkedIn, email, events and warm introductions into one approach
Work smarter with AI
Let AI scan the market for leads, funding rounds and buying signals across your territory
Build a team of AI agents around you that research accounts, draft account briefs and prepare personalised outreach
Spend your own time where it matters most: conversations, demos and closing
Own deals end to end
Prospect, qualify, run demos, negotiate and close new customers
Manage longer, consultative sales cycles with senior stakeholders
Ensure clean handovers and a strong early customer experience
Sell through insight, not hype
Understand customer use cases across VCs, corporates, public sector and ecosystem builders
Position Dealroom as a strategic tool, not just a data subscription
Tailor demos and conversations to real customer problems and decisions
Shape the market, not just your quota
Share feedback with product and marketing on messaging, use cases and objections
Help define our sales motion for North America
Play an active role in how we scale commercially
What we look for
Experience in a full-cycle sales or business development role (SaaS, data, platforms or complex B2B products)
Comfortable with outbound prospecting, selective and thoughtful in approach
Experience selling to senior or expert audiences (strategy, investment, innovation, policy); experience selling into the US or Canada is a strong plus
Strong communication skills: you can explain complex value clearly and credibly
A curious, analytical mindset; you enjoy understanding markets and customers
Self-starter energy: comfortable owning a region from a distance, working North American hours from Amsterdam
Hands-on with AI tools, or keen to become so; AI-native candidates will stand out
Familiar with CRMs (HubSpot) and managing your own pipeline
Fluent in English; French or other languages are a plus
What we offer
Scale a market with real traction: grow Dealroom's North American business from an existing customer base
Real ownership: you manage your deals and influence how we grow
Work inside a company that truly uses AI across all its processes, with your own AI agents from day one
High exposure: report to the COO and work closely with product and marketing
A product with substance: you are selling insight, not shelfware
Competitive base salary, commission and stock options
Amsterdam office 2 to 3 days a week, with travel to North America
Strong benefits package and personal development budget
A diverse, international team with a flat structure and high trust
