Our mission statement says it all: JoinUp – the right information, to the right person at the right time

Dedicated to our core values, we are committed to:

Empowerment: Equipping everyone with the tools, intelligence, connections, and freedom to make informed decisions, recognised and respected by all.

Purpose: Supporting everyone to reach their highest potential, thereby enabling all children to achieve theirs.

Passion: Because we love what you do, you’re at the heart of everything we do.

Innovation: Delivering meaningful solutions with expertise and creative thinking to influence the ever-changing world of education.

Collaboration: The cornerstone of our success as it enables us to collectively harness diverse perspectives and strengths, ensuring that together, we achieve more than we could ever do alone. Every voice counts!

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially driven Account Manager to join our team.

This is a hands-on, sales-focused role responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities across schools, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs) and education trusts.

Generating your own pipeline will be a significant part of the role. You’ll research prospective organisations, make proactive outbound approaches and build relationships with key decision-makers, identifying where our specialist services can add value.

Working across services including HR & Payroll, Risk Management, Governance, Finance and Internal Scrutiny, you’ll take ownership of opportunities from initial prospecting through to conversion and sale.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established SDR or BDR ready to take the next step into Account Management, or an early-career Account Manager with a strong track record of prospecting and selling into the education sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and engage prospective schools, Multi-Academy Trusts and education trusts through telephone, email, LinkedIn and other relevant channels.

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities, taking ownership from initial contact through to conversion and sale.

  • Use your knowledge of the education sector and market trends to understand customer challenges and identify where our services can add value.

  • Build strong relationships with new and existing customers, identifying opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across our services.

  • Arrange and attend customer meetings, presentations and follow-up discussions, using a consultative approach to understand customer needs.

  • Work closely with internal specialists, delivery teams and our Bids and Tenders team to provide a joined-up customer experience and support tender opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and keep opportunities progressing effectively through the sales pipeline.

  • Use sales and customer data to prioritise activity and improve sales effectiveness.

  • Deliver against agreed activity, pipeline and revenue targets, taking ownership of your results.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Sales Development Representative, Business Development or Account Management role is essential.

  • Experience prospecting and selling into schools, MATs or education trusts.

  • A good understanding of the education sector and the challenges facing schools and trusts.

  • Experience within HR & Payroll, Risk Management, Governance, Finance or Internal Scrutiny would be advantageous.

  • A strong track record of proactive new business development.

  • Confidence engaging and building relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

  • Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.

  • Strong communication, influencing and organisational skills.

  • Commercially minded, with the confidence to spot and develop opportunities.

  • Proactive, resilient and self-motivated, with a positive approach to outbound sales.

  • Ambitious and keen to develop your career within business development and account management.
