About Aspiralane
Aspiralane is an AI-powered education platform helping students navigate their academic journey from secondary school through university, graduate studies, and global career opportunities.
We combine technology, guidance, and access to opportunities to help students build stronger academic and non-academic profiles, discover relevant opportunities, and make better decisions about their education and careers.
As we grow, we’re looking for a Business Development Associate to help us build relationships, identify new opportunities, and expand Aspiralane’s reach across students, schools, universities, organisations, and other relevant partners.
The Role
As a Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for Aspiralane, from the first point of contact through to conversion and partnership closure.
You will actively build a pipeline of prospective clients and partners, initiate conversations, understand their needs, present relevant Aspiralane solutions, negotiate and close opportunities, and maintain relationships that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
This is a commercial, target-driven role. You will be expected not only to create opportunities but to take ownership of moving qualified opportunities through the pipeline and converting them into paying customers, clients, or revenue-generating partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify and research potential customers, schools, universities, organisations, communities, and strategic partners that align with Aspiralane’s products and target markets.
- Build and actively manage a pipeline of qualified business opportunities.
- Generate leads through outbound outreach, referrals, networking, events, partnerships, LinkedIn, email, calls, WhatsApp, and other relevant channels.
- Initiate conversations with decision-makers and key stakeholders.
- Understand the needs, challenges, and objectives of prospective customers and partners and identify relevant Aspiralane solutions.
- Conduct product presentations, pitches, demos, and business meetings.
- Develop proposals and commercial offers tailored to prospective clients and partners.
- Negotiate terms and manage commercial discussions through to agreement.
- Close new business and partnership opportunities that generate revenue for Aspiralane.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and move opportunities through the sales/business development pipeline.
- Meet agreed targets for lead generation, qualified opportunities, meetings, conversions, partnerships, and revenue.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue from existing customers and partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to support retention, referrals, repeat business, and further opportunities.
- Work closely with the product, marketing, education, and leadership teams to ensure that proposals and partnerships align with Aspiralane’s capabilities and business priorities.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, negotiations, closed deals, and revenue generated.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, conversion rates, challenges, and revenue performance.
- Monitor the market and identify new customer segments, partnership opportunities, and channels for growth.
- Represent Aspiralane professionally in external meetings, events, conferences, campus activities, and other business development opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for someone who is:
- Confident and comfortable speaking with new people.
- Strong in communication, relationship-building, and follow-up.
- Proactive and able to identify opportunities without waiting to be told what to do.
- Comfortable with outreach and initiating conversations.
- Organised and able to manage multiple leads and conversations at once.
- Results-oriented and able to work towards measurable goals.
- Able to work independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, account management, customer success, marketing, or a related role.
- Experience with lead generation, outreach, partnerships, or client relationship management is an advantage.
- Experience working in an education, technology, startup, or B2B environment is a plus.
