Base Salary: $175K-$195K Base Salary plus Commission Plan

Position Summary

AAC is seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Executive to support the company's growth across federal civilian and defense agencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities that align with AAC's capabilities in enterprise IT, cybersecurity, cloud, AI-enabled solutions, service management, and mission support.

This individual contributor role focuses on building customer relationships, identifying upcoming opportunities, gathering market intelligence, and supporting capture and proposal activities that lead to contract wins. The Business Development Executive will work closely with executive leadership, proposal teams, and operational leaders to help expand AAC's federal market presence.

Success in this role is measured by qualified pipeline development, customer engagement, opportunity influence, capture support, and contribution to contract awards.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development & Opportunity Identification

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities across federal civilian and defense agencies.
  • Maintain a pipeline of opportunities aligned with AAC's strategic growth objectives.
  • Research and monitor opportunities through:
    • GovWin
    • SAM.gov
    • Agency forecasts
    • Industry sources
    • Customer engagement activities
  • Support development of account plans for targeted agencies and customers.
  • Maintain timely and accurate opportunity information within AAC's CRM and business development systems.
  • Participate in opportunity qualification and bid/no-bid discussions.

Customer Engagement

Develop and maintain relationships with:

  • Contracting Officers
  • Program Managers
  • Technical Leadership
  • CIO Organizations
  • Industry Partners

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Conduct customer meetings to identify requirements and future acquisition plans.
  • Represent AAC at industry days, conferences, trade shows, networking events, and customer meetings.
  • Identify customer challenges and align AAC capabilities to address mission needs.
  • Increase AAC's visibility and reputation within target accounts.

Capture Support

Support capture efforts by:

  • Collecting customer and competitive intelligence.
  • Assisting with competitive assessments.
  • Contributing to win strategy development.
  • Supporting teaming partner identification and engagement.
  • Providing customer insight and acquisition intelligence.
  • Assisting in capture plan development and execution.
  • Supporting opportunity shaping efforts before solicitation release.

Proposal Support

Partner with proposal teams by:

  • Providing customer and competitive intelligence.
  • Contributing to win themes and discriminators.
  • Supporting solution discussions and proposal strategy.
  • Contributing to price-to-win strategy.
  • Participating in proposal reviews, as needed.
  • Assisting with post-submission lessons learned activities.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor agency priorities, budgets, acquisition trends, and procurement forecasts.
  • Analyze competitor positioning and contract activity.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities aligned with AAC's strategic capabilities.
  • Provide leadership with actionable market and customer intelligence.

Executive Reporting

Provide regular updates regarding:

  • Opportunity status
  • Pipeline activity
  • Customer engagement efforts
  • Competitive intelligence
  • Capture support activities
  • Revenue opportunity forecasts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of federal business development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and qualifying federal government opportunities.
  • Understanding of federal procurement processes and FAR-based acquisitions.
  • Experience supporting opportunities throughout the business development and capture lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Existing relationships within targeted federal agencies and industry partners.
  • Experience supporting the sale of:
    • Enterprise IT Services
    • Cybersecurity
    • Cloud Solutions
    • IT Service Management
    • Digital Transformation Services
  • Experience working with GWACs, IDIQs, BPAs, and task order environments.
