About Charity Accounting Partners
Charity Accounting Partners (CAP) is an outsourced finance firm serving UK charities with incomes between £500k and £2m. Founded by a chartered accountant with a KPMG background in charity audit, CAP gives charities the empowering finance function they deserve so they can focus on changing the world.
We are growing, and how we grow matters to us. CAP is built on relationships, goodwill, and value given upfront. We offer charities free tools, free financial strategy sessions, and free sector resources long before we ever talk about fees.
We earn trust first. This role exists to scale that philosophy.
Why this work matters
The charities we serve are the ones doing the work that holds communities together: fighting deadly diseases, educating medics, disability support services, youth projects, animal conservation. They are big enough to carry real responsibility but too small to afford an impactful finance team. So the finance falls to an overstretched CEO or a volunteer treasurer, and the cost is real - grant applications missed, reserves misjudged, trustees making decisions in the dark, and in the worst cases, good organisations folding for reasons that had nothing to do with the quality of their work.
That is what CAP exists to fix. And it is why this role matters more than a sales job usually does: the charities you reach are the charities that get help.
Every conversation you open, every free review you place with a deserving charity, every trustee board you help see their numbers clearly for the first time - that is impact you can point to. You will be the reason a charity that needed us found us.
The role
You will own CAP’s outbound sales function and be the voice of CAP on the phone to UK charity leaders. Your mission is to move leads through our marketing funnel, open doors with cold prospects, and spot every opportunity to help a charity in need - whether that ends in a sale or simply in goodwill deposited in the sector.
This is not a pressure-selling role, and it will never become one. If your instinct on a call is to listen, understand, and find a way to help, sometimes by offering something free, you will thrive here. If your instinct is to close at all costs, this is not the role for you.
What you’ll do
• Work the funnel. Call warm leads generated by CAP’s marketing engine and guide them through the funnel - from first interaction to free strategy session to proposal.
• Pick up the phone cold. Confidently call UK charity prospects who have never heard of us, open conversations with warmth and credibility, and leave every call having added value.
• Help first, sell second. Spot where a charity in need would benefit from our free tools or a free financial strategy session, and offer it - building relationships that pay off in trust.
• Track the pipeline in detail. Maintain a meticulous, always-current pipeline: every contact, stage, next action, and outcome logged. Report on pipeline health and conversion weekly.
• Spot market opportunities. Notice patterns in what charities need, feed insight back into CAP’s marketing and product development, and identify new segments worth pursuing.
• Build partnerships alongside the CEO. Research and reach out to sector bodies, membership networks, funders, and infrastructure organisations that have already earned our future clients’ trust, and help sign them into CAP’s partnership programmes.
Who you are
• Genuinely comfortable on the phone - you don’t just tolerate calls, you love them, and cold calling doesn’t faze you.
• Bursting with personality - warm, curious, and memorable. People enjoy talking to you and remember the conversation.
• People first - you genuinely care about helping people and building long-term relationships, not just hitting a number.
• Organised and detail-driven - you keep a clean pipeline without being asked and never let a follow-up slip.
• Commercially sharp - you spot opportunities others miss and know when to nurture and when to ask.
• Experienced in outbound sales, business development, or account management - ideally selling services to UK or international markets. Charity or professional services sector exposure is a plus, not a requirement. We will train you on the sector.
• Excellent spoken and written English and reliable home-working setup with quality internet.
Compensation package
• Base: ZAR 30,000 per month (independent contractor engagement).
• Uncapped commission on every new client you bring to CAP, paid monthly. Full commission structure shared at offer stage - it is designed so that great performance is rewarded generously, with no ceiling.
• Quarterly performance bonuses tied to pipeline quality, funnel conversion, and partnership programme milestones.
• Professional development: direct training from the CEO on the UK charity sector, plus support for development activities you propose.
Working arrangements
• Fully remote, based in South Africa.
• Working hours aligned to UK business hours (SA is only 1–2 hours ahead of the UK, so no unsociable shifts).
• Independent contractor agreement.
• Telephony, CRM, and sales tooling provided.
