Role Description

The Business Development Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, and promoting Morrisec’s cybersecurity services and solutions. Day-to-day activities include conducting market research, developing and presenting tailored proposals, managing the sales pipeline, and negotiating commercial terms in collaboration with internal stakeholders.


The Business Development Manager will partner closely with technical and delivery teams to ensure client needs are accurately captured, solutions are aligned with risk profiles, and customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the engagement lifecycle. The role also includes contributing to sales forecasts, supporting marketing campaigns, and representing Morrisec at industry events and meetings.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, account management, or sales within technology, or ideally, cybersecurity space.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, stakeholder management, and customer communication, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in opportunity qualification, pipeline management, and use of CRM (Hubspot) tools to track activities, forecast revenue, and report on performance.
  • Ability to conduct market and competitor research, identify emerging trends, and translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Experience preparing and delivering proposals, presentations, and commercial offers, including negotiation and closing of deals.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity concepts, risk management, and compliance drivers, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation and documentation capabilities.
  • Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience working with clients in Australia, especially in Sydney or broader NSW, is advantageous.
