Show job description

Andrew Morgan LLC (AM) s a fast-growing Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). We are currently seeking a qualified Business Development Manager to help grow our new Risk & Regulatory Compliance (RRC) practice, which supports credit unions. This position is based in Alexandria, VA (hybrid), or remote outside the DC metro area, and requires approximately 30–50% travel.

Our RRC practice helps small and mid-size credit unions stay on top of regulatory compliance by pairing experienced compliance advisors with AI-enabled tools, giving them the capacity of a full compliance team without having to hire one. As the first dedicated salesperson for the practice, you’ll create demand, open doors with credit union leaders, and win some of our first clients. This is a true new-business role: there is a limited existing pipeline but no book of business to inherit. You’ll also help shape the practice’s go-to-market approach and will report to the RRC Senior Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and expand relationships with credit union executives and stakeholders, generating new opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
  • Own the sales cycle end to end, including leading discovery, understanding client needs, building trusted relationships, and collaborating with proposal and contracts teams through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Grow the RRC practice’s network across the credit union industry by attending 10+ conferences and events per year and turning conversations into follow-up meetings and opportunities.
  • Turn initial engagements and new clients into long-term partnerships and continued opportunities for the practice.
  • Establish and meet pipeline and revenue targets while tracking KPIs such as pipeline, conversion rates, and new revenue.
  • Turn market insights into the practice’s go-to-market strategy, sharing feedback from clients, prospects, and industry contacts to strengthen our value proposition, pricing, and target customers.
  • Contribute to sales and marketing strategy, identifying priorities for industry events, target markets, messaging, sales materials, and client positioning, while leveraging marketing resources to support execution and brand alignment.
  • Help build and improve the practice’s sales processes, tools, and best practices to create a scalable, consistent approach to generating, developing, and closing new business.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in sales or business development, with a proven record of winning new clients and generating revenue, not simply managing existing accounts.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline from the ground up.
  • Experience working in or selling to financial institutions, with an understanding of the industry, its challenges, and the needs of decision makers.
  • A track record of closing deals with senior executives in a consultative, relationship-driven sale.
  • Willingness to travel 30–50%, primarily to conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial or growth-oriented environments, with the confidence to take initiative, navigate ambiguity, and help build the processes, relationships, and opportunities that support continued growth.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of sales experience (a strong credit union network and proven closing record can make up for fewer years).
  • Experience working within or selling to the credit union market, with an understanding of its priorities and key decision makers.
  • An existing network among credit union executives, leagues, or associations.
  • Experience selling compliance, risk, regtech, or professional services.
  • Experience as an early or first sales hire, or helping launch a new product, company, or practice.

SALARY:

$110,000–$130,000 base, plus sales incentives and a discretionary bonus. Salary is commensurate with both location and experience.

THE AM EMPLOYEE WILL DISPLAY…

  • Attention to Detail: Produce high-quality work that reflects well on AM and our clients.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Take initiative and execute independently, using internal resources to move opportunities forward.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with team members, including RRC practice leadership, proposal and contracts teams, marketing, and partners.
  • Communication/Engagement: Maintain professional conduct in meetings and written communication, participating actively with cameras on.
  • Responsiveness: Stay engaged, communicate promptly, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
