We are seeking a consultative Business Development Manager to lead ADSP's outbound pipeline generation strategy, collaborating closely with the Head of Commercial and Marketing team to shape our go-to-market approach. In this role, you will work closely with our data scientists, marketing team and leadership, thriving on feedback, acting on it quickly and sharing it with others.
You will have the chance to cultivate long-term client relationships, stay ahead of AI and industry trends, and mentor junior team members. This is not a traditional sales role, here success is measured by team achievements and thoughtful, curiosity-led engagement rather than quick wins.
If this sounds like the next step in your career, we can't wait to hear from you!
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own and execute outbound territory and account plans in partnership with the Head of Commercial, including target sectors, account prioritisation and resource allocation
Contribute to shared pipeline and revenue targets, working collaboratively with the Head of Commercial, technical teams and BDR to win the right work for ADSP
Take a consultative approach with prospects, focusing on understanding their business problems and whether ADSP is the right fit, rather than pushing for a sale
Use Apollo for prospecting, list building, enrichment and sequencing, and design multi-channel outreach campaigns targeting senior data, technology and business leaders
Maintain HubSpot as the single source of truth for pipeline, ensuring accurate deal stages, activity logging and forecasting for yourself and the BDR team
Lead discovery and qualification meetings with prospective clients, both self-generated and BDR-sourced, and progress qualified opportunities with technical stakeholders through scoping and early proposal stages
Develop a strong commercial understanding of data science and AI use cases, so you can credibly discuss business problems and potential value with prospects
Build and nurture long-term relationships with prospects who are not yet ready to buy, running structured nurture plans to convert them over time
Coach, train and support BDRs, including call and email reviews, sequence design, qualification standards and onboarding of new joiners
Actively seek feedback from the Head of Commercial, colleagues and clients, and turn it into visible improvements in your approach
Work with Sales and Marketing Operations to improve HubSpot and Apollo workflows, reporting dashboards, playbooks and sales collateral
Share AI and data science industry insights with the team to support marketing and social media activity
Represent ADSP at industry conferences and networking events, and help plan and run ADSP's own events
Perform additional tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Commercial team
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Technical qualifications or certifications (e.g., in data science, AI, computing or analytics) are a plus
Experience in B2B business development or sales, ideally including time as an SDR/BDR and progression beyond it
A proven track record of meeting or exceeding pipeline or meeting targets through outbound methods (phone, email, LinkedIn and events)
Experience selling professional services, consultancy, technology or data/AI solutions to mid-market or enterprise organisations
Experience running discovery and qualification conversations with senior stakeholders (e.g., Heads of Data, CTOs, Directors)
Experience coaching, mentoring or leading junior sales team members
Ability to use a consultative style to ask insightful questions, listen carefully and build trust with senior stakeholders
Ability to maintain a team-first mindset by sharing credit, freely offering leads and insights, and prioritising the team’s success over personal recognition.
Ability to receive constructive feedback and to act on it quickly and consistently
Hands-on proficiency with HubSpot CRM and Apollo, including sequences, reporting and pipeline management
Strong qualification and sales methodology skills, with working experience of MEDDPICC, Challenger or Sandler
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to use commercial judgement to prioritise accounts and opportunities with the highest potential value
Strong organisational and time management skills, balancing personal contribution with team leadership
Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, technical teams and Sales and Marketing Operations to improve processes and results
