About Blume Group
Blume Group is one of the UK's leading customer acquisition specialists in the legal sector, continuing to grow through both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions. We partner with law firms across the UK, helping them access high-quality opportunities and achieve sustainable growth.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an ambitious, driven and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, generating new business opportunities and closing deals.
This role is home-based, covering the Midlands, Reading and Oxford regions, with monthly visits to our office. Travel expenses will be covered where applicable.
The Role
This is a true business development role where you'll be responsible for creating and developing your own pipeline of opportunities, building relationships with law firms and representing Blume Group within the industry.
We're looking for someone with strong sales capability rather than specific industry knowledge. If you're confident generating opportunities, networking, opening new conversations and converting prospects into long-term business relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
Success in this role will come from your drive, resilience, work ethic and ability to proactively get out into the market, meeting prospective clients and building a strong network.
You can expect to spend 2-3 days per week travelling to client meetings, events and networking opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking and relationship building.
- Build and manage a sales pipeline from scratch, ensuring consistent activity and growth.
- Identify, research and engage potential law firm partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Promote the services offered by Blume Group and identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to negotiation and contract completion.
- Attend industry events, conferences and networking opportunities, including overnight stays where required.
- Travel throughout your assigned region and wider UK locations when business needs require.
- Maintain accurate records, activity updates and pipeline reporting through Salesforce and other CRM systems.
- Produce regular weekly sales reports and attend sales performance meetings.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to maximise opportunities and client satisfaction.
- Monitor performance against agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Support ongoing client relationship management and account development activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Business Development or Sales
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience building and managing a sales pipeline.
- Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
- Confident networker with excellent relationship-building abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly organised with strong time management skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and developing new business opportunities.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Willingness to travel regularly and stay away overnight when required.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.
- Previous experience selling professional services.
- Knowledge of the legal sector.
What Success Looks Like
The successful candidate will:
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales and activity targets.
- Build a strong regional pipeline of opportunities.
- Develop lasting relationships with clients and prospects.
- Demonstrate resilience and a positive attitude when facing challenges.
- Take ownership of their territory and proactively seek new opportunities.
- Be highly visible in the market through networking, events and client visits.
- Effectively manage their own diary, workload and priorities while remaining flexible to business needs.
Benefits
- Competitive salary.
- 20% performance-based bonus.
- Car allowance.
- Remote working with flexible diary management.
- Monthly office collaboration days.
- Travel and accommodation expenses covered for business travel.
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
- Perkbox membership.
- Company socials and employee wellbeing initiatives.
Blume Group is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
