About Us
We are a boutique recruitment agency that works exclusively with startups to help them scale smarter. We prioritize quality over quantity, focusing on startup-ready hires who are both technically skilled and a strong cultural fit. Our model is simple: no upfront fees, no long contracts, and payment only after a successful placement.
Role Summary
We are looking for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial Business Development Representative to bring in new client accounts. Your role will be to identify, reach out to, and engage startup founders or hiring leads, pitch our recruitment services, and secure signed agreements and hiring orders.
You will hand over the signed client to our recruitment team to begin the search and placement process. Once a candidate is placed and starts, you’ll earn a competitive commission from the resulting deal.
Responsibilities
Prospect and identify potential startup clients (Seed–Series B stage ideal)
Conduct outreach via email, LinkedIn, phone, and networking
Qualify leads and schedule discovery calls or meetings
Sell the value of our specialized recruiting services
Negotiate and close client service agreements and hiring orders
Maintain communication until the handoff to the recruiting team
Collaborate with the founder to refine pitch materials and outreach strategy
Track outreach efforts and deal pipeline using simple tools (e.g., Notion, Airtable, or CRM if provided)
Requirements
1+ years of experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles (recruiting/HR/agency experience is a strong plus)
Comfortable with outbound outreach and cold communication
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Understanding of startup hiring challenges and how recruiting agencies can solve them
Self-starter who thrives in an independent, commission-based environment
Access to a laptop, internet, and ability to work remotely
Compensation
Commission-Only
You’ll earn 20 - 30% of the agency’s fee for each successful placement from clients you bring in
Example: For a $100,000 hire at a 15% fee ($15,000), your cut might be [20-30% of the fee = $3,000–$4,500 per hire]
Note: Commission is paid out after the candidate’s start date and once the agency has received payment from the client.
